So before I start my rant Ill ask my main question now.
Are there any rules or policies that the forum moderators have to follow while preforming their duties here?
What’s happening is while in the console account transfer thread a group of people started talking about review bombing Gaijin over Gaijin’s treatment of people who want to transfer their accounts to PC. A moderator stepped in, quoted policy about how we aren’t allowed to talk about things that may hurt Gaijin here, then removed everyone’s posts.
In response to that, a user pointed out that the policy, and how the moderator enforced it, was in breech of EU law. (And they quoted the a bit of the specifics of the law in question) I also pointed out that the policy could also be against the law here in the US as well, as several gaming corporations are currently being sued for issues of policy v law/rights.
Ever since then all of my posts started disappearing, even replies to other people over other topics in the thread. I reposted them for a couple days as I didnt get any notifications of the posts being removed, nor did anyone say anything in the thread about the posts removal, so I figured something was wrong with my connection.
On the third day I received a message of “Account temporarily on hold” with no reason, or time frame, attached and said “Please do continue to browse, but you won’t be able to reply or create topics until a staff member reviews your most recent posts. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Abit later I got a notification that I had been banned with the reasoning of “Disputing moderation”. However there was no dispute as there was no warning of my posts violating any Gaijin policy.
So back to my main question. Do the moderators just get to do whatever they want to whomever at any time, or is there policy they have to follow.
