Rosetta 2 Discontinue Soon, so is MacOS Player of War Thunder

https://9to5mac.com/2026/03/24/macos-26-4-now-available-heres-everything-new/

According to latest update of Apple, Rosetta 2, the transcriber that War Thunder heavily relies on, is out of support in future.

So that means I have to quit this game without ever seeing the F-14D, I see.

Well Gaijin is going to need to find a way to turn it into a universal app, something like War Thunder mobile.

@Pony51 Do we make a bug report?

Gaijin customer support said we can create an suggestion for this in the fourm.

done, see what the team can help, macOS player is limited but the market is promising.

There still a decent amount of mac players.

they put a pending however, remember attach a link from apple’s official website about how rosetta 2 is discontinue and will be phase out next year

Can you copy and paste me your suggestion???

EDIT: I made a new post, but the mods moved it here to keep everything in one thread, I’ll keep the post text untouched though:

I play this game on my MacBook when I’m out and about and don’t have access to my gaming PC. It’s one of the only games that actually ships a native Mac version, so I’m happy.

But, the Mac version of this game still runs on x86-64. Modern Apple CPUs run on ARM, and have been for 6 years now. This means the game runs by being “translated” to ARM by the Rosetta 2 translation layer, which is going to be deprecated eventually. Which means War Thunder risks being unplayable for the Mac user base.

Is there any news on if Gaijin will be shipping an Apple Silicon native version of the game? In the immediate term it would mean muchhh better FPS for Mac users, and in the long term it means we get to keep playing.

Launching War Thunder on Mac shows this pop-up now.
