I’d like to suggest the addition of Roman numerals either restricted to Italians & Germans since they used them for numbering or freely applicable on any vehicle.
Adding number 1, 5, 10 and 50 would largely suffice to recreate the other numbers, but this would take too many slots if for ex. one wants to put the 8 or 47 (XLVII) on their tank, so I think the numbers 2-4, 6-9 , 20,30,40, should be added too. I don’t think that number 100, 500 & 1000 will be needed.
The Italians applied these on the sides of the tanks serving as a battalion indicator beneath the coloured rectangle with white stripes indicating the company & platoon number and above if it was a command tank.

The Germans began using them in WW1 on their tanks ranging from I-V.
They reintroduced them in WW2 for the same purpose as the Italians, but was only applied on command tanks limited to I or II following a 01 or 02.
