HISTORY
Jaktfalken was designed by Svenska Aero. They started the development on their own when they did not get a response from the leadership of the Air Force. The hunting falcon was a biplane with an Armstrong siddeley Jaguar radial engine of 9 cylinders and air-cooled. the fuselage was made of welded steel tubes and covered with canvas where the front and rear of the aircraft were covered with removable aluminum plates. the fueltank provided about 2.5 hours of flight time, and it was located between the engine and the driver’s seat. The prototype was purchased by the Swedish Air Force on 9 January 1930 and was named J-5.

The Swedish Aero J6B Jaktfalk was one of the fighters in question that was examined by the fighter aircraft commission, and a copy was purchased in the autumn of 1931. It was assessed as an excellent fighter, but it was not suitable as a naval fighter and was at this time too unproven. It was therefore not approved as a future fighter for Norway, and the machine was scrapped after it was damaged in connection with a landing accident on 30 June 1936

This is also the only plane that was equipped with the 530 hk Armstrong Siddeley Phanter III A
