RNG bug fix from Verrazzano: the 13.2mm machine guns don't fire at planes when they get close to my ship; they remain stationary

I don’t know if you messed with the anti-aircraft engagement distance values based on the caliber of the anti-aircraft guns, but the Vickers-Terni 40/39 autocannon works and is always the first to fire, but the 13.2mm machine guns don’t. It’s extremely annoying because I have to take the anti-aircraft controls every time I need to fire and defend myself from the planes.

EDIT: I noticed that the 13.2mm machine guns are not even firing at vessels even though I gave them orders to fire at both vessels and aircraft.

Try to report it, I remember there was a similar issue with 40/39 on some other ship not firing automatically and they fixed it after a bug report.

Probably cause small guns engage range was decreased in previous major patch, but was bugged for NAB(so 12.7 - 20 mm shot at 8km targets) and now finally fixed it. The fire radius for this machinegun now 1.5 km and it shot at that radius.

They stopped the AI controlled light AA shooting at ships a few years ago - they will only shoot at boats where they have “a reasonable chance of doing some damage” or something like that - so essentially MG’s will only shoot at small boats, if at all,

change was about 2020

But for a ship like Verrazzano this means a HUGE nerf as it can literally not defend itself from small vessels and aircraft.

They will shoot at aircraft and the 40mm are your anti-torpedo boat armament

wish Gaijin would rework how the AA guns work. include different AA strategies in the AI like Box Firing or having the Guns slaved to directors.
