Good eye, maybe
non, c’est une cloud de champignon
i think this is Yamato
Richelieu should have no main turret on the back and 2 quadruple ones in the front
This update better have at least some intensive C+P on ground, because doing a gamble of this size on a gamemode that has a smaller community than Air sim players looks practically ilogical.
correct - its yamato or its sistership Musashi
I don’t really see the harm in a single naval focused major update once every 3 or so years
And a lot of these additions would be rough if added peacemeal. Just look at how bad scharnhorst was for years
Well, if you put it that way… Fair enough
way I see it, it’s a hail mary to attract new players that conveniently doubles as a grand finale should the gamble not pay off
wouldnt surprise me if after this update (maybe the one after that) naval basically goes into maintenance mode, with the odd addition like they do with helicopters these days
You simply can’t be saying this with a straight face after Gaijin introduced AI ships, so people can actually play the mode without needing to sit in a queue for who knows how long lol.
Lucky for you, WT has some competitors when it comes to Naval, so doing an update here and there is a way to keep themselves in that game. This is pretty much the only logical explanation why Naval is still receiving updates with such a negligible player base.
Looking at the player count of Sim modes I beg to differ.
This is with ASB zombers included.
Yeah, other 2-3% of the player base like those game modes, and that’s such a significant amount don’t you think ? Yes, scrap the most popular mode as you always have Naval to hold your back if the Ground changes go south and people start leaving the game en masse.
I kinda see where you’re coming from, though I feel missile ships, carriers and subs would be the true hail Mary.
They already have them in mobile (not carriers, but we do have ai carriers) and whilst they all could work, it needs proper balancing. If naval does well, gajin will try balance it, if it is indeed on its last legs, they won’t bother and add them in hap hazardly.
It was on maintance mode without big bugfixes or game mechaics changes for 2+ years. And that what caused mode to stagnate and depopulated. New marathon system also hurts naval mode much, draining players to other modes. Besides that naval events happened way less than ground and air and being postponed which not helps too.
Even if naval is 5% from all modes it’s still ~10000-20000 players every day who pay and play, heck some other online games have less online and got bigger updates regularly.
Genuine question, why is it this important that naval and sim battles should disappear?
I’m not trying to be snarky or anything but if it takes up less than a small amount of focus from the other modes, I can’t see having naval or sim being removed making the game better, especially since naval is completely optional to grind for an optimal air and ground lineup (unless the kingfisher is that big of a deal).
Better try with 0.5%.
we’ve had two (three? i lost track) damage model reworks and an shell fragment overhaul, not to mention the fact that every update usually had more non C+P vehicles than air and ground got
sure, a lot of things were not addressed (and still aren’t) and the amount of attention the mode gets is subpar at best, but to claim its already in maintenance mode is just not true
I think this sums up some of my thoughts perfectly.
While the ANB changes were really bad, it still fixed one prevelent issue in coastal, that being some nations had really bad reserves (or in France’s case, it’s entire tier one). With the addition of 4 boats and reshuffling the weaker boats into the optimal segment, it makes coastal a lot easier to start for Japan, UK and France.
That issue being fixed made naval more approachable. While there are still huge issues, even smaller fixes can help a great deal.
Ha ! Nicely done, good joke. He was a bit more than a priest though. He was a cardinal. The Red Eminence, as they called him. And one of the founders of the French navy, with Colbert. Hence the name, in fact.
I’ve got list of proposed changes to naval which could live it up drastically, some of them minor patch level of complexity or even 2-3 updates in database worth, which even junior dev could handle.
Saw the part asking for optional towing to return and realised that’s another easily fixable change, since it’s a naval focused update, I’m hoping it returns soon (rip sf40 heavy).
