Missed to grasp that air rb is just a silver lion + daily task/battlepass grinder for me. My top played air vehicles in air rb are all bombers and attacker planes. With lots of ground kills and SL income. He should have known that I’m using this mode to farm ground kills and ofc bases. You don’t have alot player kills with mainly bombers and strike aircraft.
I like the combined arms modes much more. Like Ground and naval. Here are my second most played air units: Attacker planes to kill tank and ship players (G.91, Bf110 etc). Since this strange new game mechanic applies for all game modes, I totally think I have the right to express my opinion here. War Thunder is not just for Air RB community, its the most simplistic game mode anyways. Especially now with air spawns for everyone and avg match time of about 5 mins.
Sorry, but I think its wrong to get rewarded for opponents crashing or ejecting. Couple of days ago I was camping at a map position right in the enemy half of the map. So I just was the closest player to the enemy air/drone spawn. That was already enough to get two or three air kills added. Mainly strike drones, you spawn a generic drone and use its limited ordnance. Then you crash them or bail out. The closest player gets the kills.
I think its nonsense. And also think it should be removed asap. All this just because air rb players requested to get even more rewarded in these 5 min nonsense matches. Air RB is already the most profitable game mode. There was no need to push this even further.
When players fail to kill someone, they shouldn’t get rewarded at all. This is just lol. For all other modes it also means players get spawn points and kill statistics, just because enemy players crash or J out of planes/drones which spent their ordnance. Why should I strenghten the enemy team just cause I wan’t to switch vehicle to something more useful?
This mechanic is from hell. When some players deny kills, our much loved and precious air elite super players should just deal with it and play on. Instead of ruining and inflating all of War Thunder.
Yeah it can really ruin debates sometimes because some people keep bringing up their stats and yours when they have no real arguments to give. It ruins convos, fortunately we have great moderators who don’t let it become too widespread
Tbh I think this mechanic is fine, I mean sure it sometimes rewards people when it shouldn’t but that’s not so much of a problem. What is a problem however is when you fight or chase someone for very long and put effort into it, and when you start getting the high ground they crash to deny the kill. That’s just toxic and frustrating. For that reason I’d rather have a bit of unnecessary rewards rather than more of this toxic gameplay some people have
Jesus Christ, are you serious? You didn’t hit him, so you didn’t deserve anything here. Whats so hard to understand? You simply failed to score. Happens, go on and play the next match. Only a kill is a kill.
No match is dragged out in a useless way. Its a great way to maximise income. I always do this. You bomb bases and farm pillboxes/supply trucks to max score. Then go back to the airfield. Especially the RP reward maxes out alot over time. So its worth waiting near the airfield until everyone else is dead or drops the match.
You can make hundrets of thousands SL and tens of thousands RP for a single Air RB match. Thats the true way to play air RB. As income grinder and research tool for the real game modes. When you play air rb just for kills thats your problem.
I consider matches like this most successful. I don’t care for kills. I bomb my bases and strafe some stuff. Drag out for max $$$$, Thats not even my best game. With my Ju 288 or the premium Tornado its even more. In one match I made 40.000 RP this way. For this I draged out the game over 30 min until everyone gave up. Unfortnately I can’t find the screenshot.
Thats how I play Air RB. For me its just an SL/RP pump. I’m sorry when Air RB is the center of your life. Maybe you should look for the more fun game modes, then you’d understand why the reward-for-no-kill-mechanic is plain wrong.
Yes, sorry I don’t have the time to pick a more recent one. I just want to make a point thats the correct way to play air rb is like this. Bases + high value npc + playing for time > huge income.
Remove crew lock and I will gladly crash my premium fighter into a base after bombing them and give the lucky player closest to me their kill. Only grinding for SU KH38s so I can be a menace in GRB anyways.
These exact mechanics are what makes Air RB terrible. Way too many players just turn and dive to the airfield because they are too lazy to play the game and need hitscan AAA to do all the hard work for them.
Or others, usually in attackers and bombers, will just crash when they see that they can’t go AFK while pressing spacebar every now and then, and actually have to engage with the other sixteen players on the enemy team.
I’ll just make the (highly probable) assumption you’re the latter when you find that running to the hitscan AAA bubble is not an option.
Why can’t you just let bomber and attacker players grind their SL? They’re not your enemy.
I often do this. You could even ask in chat for an gentlemans agreement so both can grind dozens of bases/npcs over the full match time (45m I think). Even the losing side will have an incredible income.
Instead all you see are kills kills kills. Even for a crash you want a kill. Thats quite a limited view imho. Makes other game modes less appalling, yes I’m talking about ground RB, which is the core of WT imho. Followed by Naval.
