@Stona_WT will the crew lock for aircraft still apply after you crash and someone got the reward? I assume that the entire reason for crew lock was to punish players who crash to deny the kill but now that this new mechanic is coming, will you still get crew locked after crashing?
still waiting for an official explenation why this wont be in air sim
and i will not take 10 dudes exploiting as an answer
yes
kinda hoping it wouldnt anymore
Yes, there is no need to change this.
think about it as a punishment for the player avoid to hit the ground
Stona, are u guys CM cooking something good for us today ?
Why not, if u died dogfighting and someone got rewarded with a kill then why would u need to wait a few minutes for crew lock that’s counter intuitive, crew lock was supposed to counteract ppl dying on purpose to deny kills.
because people still need to be punished for crashing? Learn how to fly.
the real disgrace is air sim not getting the feature, the game mode that needed it most is not getting it…
I mean dying is enough of a punishment, it costs you sl. It’s the exact same as dying to an opp, learn to fight
“it costas you SL” 9~13k in a game that we have vehicles that costs over 1M
people can and will crash on purpose, even just J’ing out to deny people kills.
this pretty much retcons those types of “people” that don’t like dying.
also this mechanic just gives 50% of the rewards, not the entire kill
Speaking of which - not sure if this has been answered already - apart from (50%) rewards, will such maneuver kills actually be counted in the player’s stats as kills, and towards tasks/challenges and camouflage/decal progress?
@Stona_WT, can you say anything about that?
my last few matches in sim has been “people” who crashing on purpose before my missile reaches them.
im straight up wasting time for nothing if this isnt added to sim
Of course one death is negligible, but if you do it frequently your income will take a hit. I know what I’m talking about, I suck at the game so my sl income is quite garbage.
If crashing doesn’t negatively affect opponents anymore, there’s no reason to punish it more than the others ways of dying, which are punished by that repair cost only
AFAIK yes, it’s counted as a kill and counts towards stats.
Outstanding!!!
Now we only need to get it to Sim, eh? = )
For sure there are ‘easy’ ways to make this detection much more smart
Some kind of mechanism that calculates likelihood of it being an actual maneuver/dogfight kill. Amount of time spent together in proximity + weapons fired + missile locked/fired + etc should all ‘sum up’ and then when there is a crash the reward goes to somebody actually involved. I’m sure this data is already available server-side and the server can just ‘decide’ / calculate based on all parameters available if a crash is an actual maneuver kill.
I’m sure it would be relatively easy to come up with ANYTHING better than “ahhh just take the closest proximity”. Of course they implement this in the dumbest and laziest way possible. Just “give kill to close nearby enemy” is so incredibly dumb. Do better.
Also the reason why this isn’t implemented in SIM, because the way this is implemented makes it also easy to abuse. If the devs were slightly capable of coming up with anything than the dumbest implementation possible, then we could also have this in SIM.
