I mean before the change you could make a case to put the Leclercs or maybe the type 10s above the BVM, but you would need to make it a really good argument.
Now after the change? Yeah I agree. It’s still possible to make that argument, just very very hard.
While we’re at this. People need to stop trashing on the T-90M, as well. All these tanks are fine.
Anyway, i know you guys are always harping on about major nations. But I think the most interesting change is the VT4A1 and ZTZ99A now has 6.66 reload, while the WZ1001(E) LCT has been left in the dust at 7 seconds. The little bit extra pen you get with the L/54 hardly seems worth it now.
This wouldn’t be a problem if Realistic had mixed battles as a common basis. However, Russia barely ever faces itself, leading to lolpen literally any other NATO hull besides the 2A7/122s improved glacis. That’s why this buff may not be a huge thing, but its another step on meta shifting.
Now Russia not only has the best plane-launched AGM, among the best heli AGMs, and the best ERA packages, now it also has a standardized competitive reload rate to an entire tank series which already lolpens NATO hulls.
I will never understand how people constantly talk down on the BVM, even making the argument that the Leclercs are better than the BVM, a tank that can be penned by almost everything everywhere, compared to a tank that has some of the best armor in the game…
It’s not necessarily meant as bashing on the T-80BVM. It’s just that highly mobile MBTs with good gun depression and a 5 second reload will always be incredibly strong in the hands of good players.
My humble bet is that it’s a bug and it’ll be fixed. it makes no sense to do a blog to announce an improvement only to be apply such buff for weaker rounds.
Also, notice how the T-80BVM is the only T-80 w/3BM60, yet the round shares the same reload buff time as the T-72/T-90 series, reinforcing the bug theory.
The issues is that war thunder doesnt model the ammo placement, so the next round that you load can literally be anything, and for a 10+seconds you would need to pass over quite a few rounds
Though I’ll keep some skepticism stored. Nothing personal, by the way. It’s just that I have an idea of how Gaijin ends up working, and sometimes they tweak numbers even after officials say anything.
Perhaps not, but it wouldn’t be hard to implement a longer reload when switching to a new shell type and even the Soviet manual they linked said that every two cassettes that are passed adds ~1s to the reload time
the only tanks that actually got buffed from this is t64a, t80U and whole lot of premium\squadron\event t80us (1 t80u in TT and 5 paid)
t80B is 7sec so not a second but 0.1
literally worthless update if you are not giga delux premium gamer that plays 11.7
Personally i fine by giving them this as a temporary measure, but i would rather give this to every vehicle, as you could pick and choose where to place the ammo
