You’re documentation and research is incorrect once again, Gaijin. You’re completely right, Chinese tanks have a improved autoloader.
You know what doesn’t?
The MZ autoloader. Here’s actual documentation on the T-80’s reload time.

Due to the nature of the system, (correction: SOME) carousel autoloaders should reload slower as they expend more shells, 7.1 seconds goes up to 19 as more shells are expent.
Oh, they dont care realism… Its “biasbalance”.
This takes into account only the old T-80B and T-72 “Ural” Pre-production autoloaders, they’ve been upgraded since, including in T-80BV which it is in-game. In the first case you are right, because old versions used vacuum tubes and could only turn counter-clockwise and could only begin selecting the round AFTER firing which yes, led to THOSE reloads you see.
In this case the round is being pre-selected by the commander, entirely skipping the entire spin cycle as it happens before the firing sequence. The reload sequence starts immediately as the firing sequence ends.
Same principle is in T-72/T-90/ZTZ/VT-4, they’re just seemingly being careful and holding off making those changes, at least right now.
this is false, the conveyor doesnt need to waste time since its loading one shell after another
Gaijin is making interesting and supposedly realistic changes. This is good, but I think this shouldn’t be a one-off change. The developers should focus more on fixing the many bugs that affect tanks, such as the Oplot’s hull front armor, the Brenus ERA’s lack of KE protection, the Centurion MkX’s missing 100mm of mantlet armor, the Abrams’ mantlet armor, the Challenger’s first rack, and the Centurion AVRE’s lack of hull front armor. I could spend all day listing errors, many of which have already been reported and acknowledged, but which remain unfixed, and significantly affect certain tanks, making them a real pain to play.
I don’t know what methods the developers use to decide which bugs to fix, but what’s clear is that they’re being far too negligent in fixing serious bugs that significantly affect certain vehicle models in the game. Let’s hope that one day the developers will focus on and properly examine the reports section, and prioritize the most serious bugs that need fixing as soon as possible.
From my understanding, pre-selecting can only work with one round type, so whenever you change rounds, what would happen after?
iirc its missle
hey, sorry its in cyrillic.
Is this for the bug where these tanks have a reload of 7 seconds instead of the proposed 6 seconds?
Welp, guess I gotta start spading my BVM now lol.
Anyways, do they really need it? Probably, considering how poor the WR after the new spaa were added (also prior to the LMUR), it suggested that Russia was extremely reliant on their CAS platforms to win.
Though I’m unsure how much of this is because of good players leaving to other nations, the tank itself being bad, premium players, or other factors.
Personally these tanks aren’t that bad and I would take them over the Abrams in most occasions. This is only because of how small maps are getting. If maps started to get big which allowed for more movement, flanking, sniping, I would pick the Abrams (along with other western tanks if I had them) but it’s just not the case.
How much would these really improve the tank? I think it’d be enough to at least stand toe to toe with western tanks.
Best joke dude.
Not really, why would it work with only one type? Until the currently chambered round is fired the commander can select whichever shell type he wishes and the autoloader will spin in that direction and wait in that position until the chambered round is fired.
All rounds are indexed by the commander/gunner during rack loading at base. Ofcourse IF the commander is unsure or DOESN’T wish to select the round at the moment as is case for safety during transportation, the full 7.1s reload would apply, but that’s with NO ROUND selected.
Yes
I am probably thinking of a different feature, I saw something about a mode on the T-64s with being able to automatically load the same shell type without commander intervention, and got it confused.
What you’re saying is about the commander pre-selecting the shells, so I think we’re on the same page now.
That’s why the “Carousel spin” time and that entire round finding sequence is greyed out or not tracked in the dev’s diagaram, It’s obsolete, it will only apply with no round selected, only happens before battle or after just rolling off the transport and only once, and never again until left empty again.
Receiving reload speed buffs is still just that.
Even with these buffs most of the Russian MBTs still won’t be anything special lol.
So what we’re saying is that NATO tanks will not provide any benefit anymore other than a decent reverse gear?
Also this completely invalidates the abrams reload speed increase.
Funny how this comes directly after a NATO blowout panel nerf too, definitely not favoring a specific nation with this one.
