It was brilliant in real life ? was great for the infantry. It fulfilled it’s roll perfectly and kept it’s crews alive? sure it wasn’t the fastest tank but it certainly filled the roll it was supposed to.
To the point the germans actually swiped and used them.
That statement alone shows you know nothing about british tanks.
Again in real life both of these were stop gaps between cromwell and the comet. Never intended to be used fully in service hell the avenger literally never went into official service. 200 odds were made and then effectively binned.
because we had centurion at that point, the tank which literally changed tank warfare
Cromwell in real life, fit the cruiser roll, it was praised by it’s crews for it’s amazing speeds (up to 40MPH) it’s reliability as well as it’s protection levels compared to older cruisers.
Was a fantastic tank for during the war especially considering it did again it’s roll fantastically.
Valentines, were great? their armour in the first stages of the war allowed them to keep chugging along, again as infantry support vehicles, tehy are actually the most produced WW2 tank for britain? xD we made 7 thousand odds I thik it was. Great little machine for what it was supposed to do.
The achiles was fantastic? it was literally an upgunned M10 wolverine which was smashing german heavies and such with the 76MM? teh achiles had the great 17pndr in it which could blow panthers away lol.
In what regard was the Achiles a bad vehicle?
it was also a stop gap waiting for the Sherman Firefly BTW
Crusaders were light cruiser tanks are the only objectively bad tanks on your list mate, they had piss armour, poor engines and a 2pndr gun which for the african campaign was not enough then were replaced by US tanks on lend lies.
Vickers Mk1 ? As in the light MBT designed for export which india helped design , over 2 thousand were made which for MBTs is pretty impressive.
Especially considering it was designed to be a cheaper cost MBT specifically for export.
Vickers is also still in service in a few countries to this day,
AS well as the Vickers MK3 which was great.
vickers MK7 was phenomenal for it’s time and on the trials it took part in blew away the competition.
Centurion changed modern tank combat as we know it.
Cheiftain the same changed the NATO doctrine and it’s L11 cannon eventually led to almost every nato nation upgunning to 120MM.
Challanger which the armour for it again changed doctrine for nations, including but not limited to the USA who use their own version of dorchester in the damn abrams even to this day?
So Again I ask you, what do you mean Britain makes crap tanks?.
CR2 is still one of the most protected MBTs in the world and it’s from the fkin 90s mate.
