Results of polling on the new points in the Road Map

Because some people have been playing the game for 10 years and know its problems. For the last 5 years the game has been sliding into the trash, but users seem to like it

More fires without more FPE… Yay…

I think they need to do a test event. Like they did for severe damage

It’s fires that extinguish by themselves after 1-2 seconds…

I agree. First explain it in detail, then run a test event, then conduct another poll.

I think this is extremely important. Yes, not everyone lives on the forum but these changes affect everyone who plays the game.

To think that there isn’t at least a popup in game saying that there is a vote is mind boggling to me. It would be much better for everyone if these things are done through the client itself, instead of forums/that online platform where surveys are hosted.

@Smin1080p Is there any way we can get these kinds of votes to appear in the client, in the hangar. This would for sure increase number of votes on the poll. Current system leaves people who aren’t super into following the news and the forum without representation. At least a card in the hangar that leads to the survey. Using the builtin web browser is another option.

Did they not have a pop-up for this? Im unsure, might be mistaking it for something else

I am pretty sure there wasn’t one. If there was it just goes to show how effective it was

Just offering suggestions to people without properly informing them what it means, not the first time this has been done either.

Put in the effort to create actual examples of what these systems are supposed to look like, what kind of ‘new modules’ are going to be added and how exactly will they impact these vehicles? On what vehicles are they going to be added? Is it an advantage or disadvantage to have these modules? How long does it take for them to be implemented? Will all vehicles get them? Isn’t this just for light vehicles?

What is this stun actually going to look like? How does this actually resolve the no armor best armor meta beyond just being annoying? How is this not beneficial to autocannons more than anything else? How does a 2 second stun change the outcome of doing no damage to a light vehicle beyond delaying the inevitable? Why isn’t hull break brought back? Is this stun going to be applied to all vehicles? if so, why?

New fire sources? What sources? Will all vehicles get them? Why? What causes them to catch fire? What are the consequences of these fires? If they do less damage and go out on their own how does this solve the no armor meta?

I hate how these changes get pushed into the game based on ‘community votes’ when the community has no clue what they’re voting in, you did the same thing with the repaircost situation, even though that was outright misleading, and then again with the RP for a win vs a loss.

Statistically that’s actually a pretty good sample. There is an engagement-level bias of course, as with any poll in an F2P game, but the aggregate number itself is really good.

Credit where credit’s due. I don’t like all the results, but I do respect that Gaijin is going to go by the results they’ve got from the community. Really nice to see.

  • The illusion of choice causes people to feel that they have a wide range of choices when, in reality, their choices are limited or pre-determined. This belief can contribute to a false sense of control. It can help people feel more empowered and autonomous, but it can also be used to manipulate people to benefit those presenting the choices.

So, the conclusion:
For - adding
Against - well, we’re planning this for later

If you’re exploring additional modules and model detail, will you be looking into implementing APUs? Very interested by this change.

I tend to agree, but unfortunately I think it is for the wrong reasons. Many for WoT players seem to think it would mimic whatever they have in that game(I dunno how it works there) and what they proposed sounds very convoluted and wouldn’t seem to work well in the game as presented. I for one would love to see some sort of lesser mechanic that simply buys you some more time. To me, the single most annoying aspect of playing tanks is to get the drop on an enemy, fire the first shot, only to have them immediately return fire(and the majority of the time it is a OHK shot) with no delay whatsoever. It is not realistic in the least and actually hinders normal game play a great deal . . for me anyway. I like the crew healing aspect, but of the 3 mechanic options put forth, only the stun mechanic seemed like anything that will be helpful to game play in the slightest, and that would still be if it were modified a great deal from what was put forth . . . . but that’s just me . . . ☻

Please, take notice that in the previous post regarding the poll a certain amount of players (myself included) did point out that the nature of stun mechanics based on visual effects (flashes, blurring, shaking, changing in the direction of the camera and similar effects) will make people affected by motion sickness/other conditions ill and unable to play.

This is one of the reasons why the majority voted against. Please do keep this in mind.

I agree, I think a “modified” stun mechanic, nothing “mimic’d” from the other game and a lot less “intrusive” than what was proposed would get a lot more votes . . but then again, logic & reason are not always factors considered by the masses for . . well, just about anything really . . . lol

Such a shame about the negative reception of the stun mechanic, I had hoped we could at least see some kind of stun/concussion effect caused by large caliber solid shot and HESH.

Also, I hope these more detailed damage models aren’t going to backfire and end up buffing APHE while further hindering APDS and APCR

P.s. please work on HESH

we will postpone its development for now.

Why does this sound like all these things are already planned to be in the game and making it a community vote is just an easy way to shift the blame to players if it ends up being miserable like you’ve done with previous votes?

People voted no, why is it being ‘postponed’ as if this was already in active development? And why for now as if it’s going to end up in the game one way or another? People voted, they said no.

Yeah, that’s the biggest problem here.

It’s even “fun” to see so many players so happy about adding more modules to vehicles. And some time later, there’s a good chance those same players will be complaining “why did my shell get completely eaten by the radio module!?”. We already have this kind of situation with e.g. fuel tanks.

For me more modules just means more post-pen RNG, which is never a good thing. At least that’s how I see new modules now, before I get more detailed information about them. Somehow I doubt they will work any differently than current modules when it comes to stopping shells or shrapnel.

I voted against this change, because even if the new modules turn out to be a disaster, Gaijin will never undo them. It will always be “the vast majority of the community wanted them!”.
