Responding To Dev Server Feedback Regarding Turret Baskets

As I said, I played them extensively post addition.

It absolutely was a not a buff. If the likelihood of your turret becoming disabled increased, and the handcrank system doesnt immediately activate (and it doesnt), then it was a massive nerf.

Not to mention, getting hit just about anywhere disables all turret rotation. You have to remember that the whole point of the turret basket implementation was because of Gaijin’s asinine logic of “we don’t want to penalized player shots”.

Yeah so I am actually going to take my extensive experience playing it, and performing very well in it, over what you think happens. I think I explained it quite well.

As it turns out, the impact is pretty drastic, even if the damage model only encompasses the top and bottom of the basket (which I’m not even sure it does at this point) it still acts as a full cylinder that if hit by any sort of minimal spalling will be destroyed (in the case of APFSDS) or at the very least critically damaged (in the case of HEAT).

Sorry for necroposting.

Y’all have good firepower, reload, mobility and turret armor. Stop crying

Also y’all get like 6 Abrams for top tier. Which is an advantage

More tanks don’t = advantage, look at Britain

Did the Abrams not get the second best shell, firepower, great turret armor and mobility

Do half the tanks in-game at top tier not have great turret armor, reload, and mobility? And I have honestly never noticed any significant difference between top-tier shells and their performance against each other. An Abrams round and a Leclerc/Merkava’s rounds are penetrating the same places on a BVM; its extra pen doesn’t let it do anything new or different.

Furthermore, the bigger complaint is, why do only some vehicles get this major nerf while others don’t? It should’ve been an all-or-nothing feature.

Furthermore, not many people are shooting at the turrets of tanks in top tier? Breach, yes, but the lower front plate is a more common target and a more universal target on all tanks. I’ve used the M1A1 a lot lately in uptiers, and despite having lower turret armor that top-tier rounds can penetrate, I am rarely if ever shot there.

No? Barely any tanks have a 5sec reload paired with the second best shell in game.

Russian tanks have also been nerfed. So have the Chinese tanks. Americans and NATO isn’t the only victim of nerfs.

Maybe you’re using it wrongly. Sniping with the Abrams is much better

Except Merkavas get 5s reload with a slightly worse shell. Leclercs have better mobility with 5s reload (won’t comment on their shell’s performance because it’s one of the few top-tier tanks I haven’t played yet). Britain gets a 5s reload with an ok shell. Japan 4s with a great shell. Italy 5s with what I guess you’d call the best shell. The only ones with poor reloads are T-series tanks and Leos.

Additionally, I believe this nerf should apply to everyone. The idea for this nerf was for tanks that often have lots of empty space to be more vulnerable. So, where is the Type 90/10 nerf? I never mentioned Russia or China…

???

So then type 90/10 should get nerfed too. Why cry about abrams? Then you should ask gaijin to nerf those tanks instead of crying about abrams

I never cried about Abrams specifically. I said this should have been an all-or-nothing feature. They should get this nerf. So should Leclercs, everyone should. You’re making up details and picking fights where there shouldn’t be fights. My original point was that it’s annoying how only Abrams and Leo have this as of now, and soon Russia.

M829A2 can penetrate K5 tanks much more reliably than Leclercs round. Round penetration also matters for spalling.
