Smells like French bias.
These nerfs have to be targeted, Probably the biggest skill issue at top tier if you mess up a shot on a Leopard or Abrams from the side. So, instead of keeping things realistic or “balanced” they nerfed two really good MBTS and left EVERY other MBT untouched. Here’s some great looking turret rings for you to take 6 updates to put into the game. It would’ve made sense for all nations to get it on the leviathans update and it would’ve been fine but seeing the delay looks to be a dumb way to promote playing China and Russia seeing they now have the best helicopters in game now.

It’s crazy that this post targets only Russian vehicles…
I put the challenger in there???
Here just for you ill put the leopard in there ;)
Would be nice to give type 90/10 and leclercs their baskets. They are practically black holes sometimes.
Helicopters without FnF missiles can’t be the best in the game.
It might also be a way to promote Leclercs and playing French TT, as those tanks escaped getting a turret basket for some reason.
And in return they got some of the worst hull/mantlet protection in this game, even M18 can one shot you through gun mantlet which happened to me couple years ago.
They also have more problems such as mobility, lacking spall liners and better shell.
Their most positive things are consistent 5 second reload and bein able to spawn with Tigre HAD Block 2 and Rafale (if you can get enough points), but those are not MBT related.
I won’t argue that tanks from all nations have cons, I was just using his argument against him and how he seemingly forgot about France.
Fair enough.
Except the ones with crewless ones, I guess most turreted vehicles have turret baskets. Its just neccessary if you wan’t the turret crew to do their jobs in an efficient way. It also protects the crew from accidental injuries, when the turret traverses: There are reports of terrible injuries like broken limbs in early e.g. T-34, which were missing protective meshes/baskets. So the turret rotated, one crewman missed it and was maimed by some inside obstacles, lost hands etc.
The question ist: Why did they stopped adding these baskets after Abrams and Leopards? And why is the turret blocked if the bottom plate or the mesh is hit? The protective mesh is not a vital part to rotate the turret and the bottom plate is just a plate…to give the crew something to stand on. Questions…
True… we should nerf Leclercs, Merkavas, Arietes and Challengers even more !
Shows and proves CR2/3 doesnt use a turret basket system in the conventional way that a Leopard or M1 does
There were classified/un classified drawings posted on this issue along with tanker testimonies.
Turret baskets are the most space efficient place to route hydraulic lines and electrical cables.
These are rounted and protected by the mesh…However there have been stories confirming that a damaged mesh secstion has severed and destroyed hydraulic lines and caused electrical fires.
Now this was older M60 and Leopard 2A4s but the design is largely the same.
If they have turret baskets that are not yet modeled in-game, then absolutely. It’s not like Abrams and Leopard players asked for this.
Odd how none of the Community Managers or Devs have followed up on this though. Sort gives validity to the argument that these nerfs should have waited until Gaijin could implement them to more units.
Just makes the crew more likely to die to spall, turret baskets dont control the drive they protect the crew but gaijin cant understand that.
The issues I have seen are not the spalling but the “It disables the turret”
Which yeah a damaged basket could sever the hydraulic lines. Problem we have in game is we expect penetrations to act like a simulation and they just dont.
They could also sever electrical wires that come through the slip ring, completely disabling electric powered turret drives, autoloaders, radios, and flir but the nerfs were only done to US and Leos
Problem you have is only an M1 and Leopard 2 will survive a lower plate shot.
CR2, Leclerc and all the T series tanks die.
Either you have the mechanic for everyone or you don’t. Abrams do not survive LFP shots. Leos do
Leopards have no hydraulic lines. The t-drive is electical.
