Is that worse than the entire turret being inoperable?
I might be misunderstanding what i’m looking at but in that vide the floor follows with the turret rotation?
There is a small linkage that links the floor to the turret, but it is not part of the turret mechanism the turret is driven by the ball bearing assembly. if that floor was to be hit the top section that drives the turret would still operate.
The floor actually is not moving and that is from a CR1 so cannot be used for a bug report but they use the same turret drive systems.
Now on a Leopard or M1 the turret is rotated using the basket.
As i have said before, if you have proof that it can be disconnected and the turret turn anyway feel free to make a report.
Logical following or reasonability doesn’t suffice for a report.
That might be true, but as i have stated before, their reason for it not being able to operate when a floor is hit is not the mechanism, it’s this:
Do you have a source on that? Because as far as i have seen it does:

Turret runs on the turret ring, no lower mechanism and no lower mechanism or damage to the floor would disable main turret drive.

Corporate want to know the difference between these two images…
If CR2 is to have a turret basket added then T-series tanks get them too
I haven’t said it would. You seem to be missing the points i’m making and their reason for it stopping the rotation.
The turret is connected to a floor that rotates together with the turret when the turret turns.
Spoiler
A damaged floor would damage surrounding equipment if forcefully rotated despite damage.
Spoiler
That is like saying a shaft will stop spinning if you break the propeller. It is linked but not intrinsically
As I said the arrangement is similar to the Russian turret system and that is not being burdened by this game mechanic.
I appreciate your time today, we will wait and see how much it makes a difference on the live server. maybe we will get spall liners added to the CR2…
I can’t say anything more than repeat my previous reply.
Man, that is a really good comparison. Hope the mods/devs consider that.
Okay but the T series autoloader cant possibly inhibit the rotation of its turret?
Surely y’all can see the double standard that the devs are twisting your arm to support?
I personally think the autoloader should behave the same when hit if that is their rationale for turrets not being able to rotate when hit there.
But my personal opinions won’t effect how the dev’s implement things, i have the same influence over development and implementations as you guys do.
Yeah I figured that was the case.
Thanks for sharing your personal thoughts on it though!
Where is Something to sit on in Russian MBTs then?
Well i guess the Russian bias is real.

I don’t know how that relates to my post that you replied to?
Just agreeing the autoloader should behave the same… sitting on it… something mounted to it what ever… should behave the same.
maybe i was to sarcastic towards bug reporting manager at the same time sorry.
Well not the autoloader per se but there is an additional basket within the T-64/80s autoloader that the crew seats are mounted to (and that prevents the crew from having their legs crushed while its cycling) and that the “independent” part of the autoloader rotates around.
On T-72/90 the part that actually moves indepdently is below the top plate thats modelled as part of the autoloader ingame right now.
The plates above the charges do not rotate with the carousel but with the turret itself and are essentially what the crew sits on (or well rests their legs on but you get the idea)
But because its russian the turret can still turn when it gets hit. Superior basket design. Jk
Hes on about damaged baskets, not damaged floor. Completely different thing. If a floor of a challenger 2 took shrapnel or a shell through it or any damage, it would not stop the turret rotating. A basket yes, not floor. The floor rotates from the turret, not turret from the floor. So the turret would have to get damaged to stop floor rotation, not other way around. Some holes in a floor wont stop a turret rotating.
