Request to Review and Adjust Armour Values of British Challenger Tanks

I would like to respectfully request a review of the current armour protection values for the following British main battle tanks:

Challenger 2
Challenger 2E
Challenger 3
Black Night

According to publicly available statements from the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and manufacturer BAE Systems , these vehicles are equipped with advanced composite armour systems that have been validated in real combat conditions.

Specifically:

  • The Challenger 2 is officially described as being protected by “second-generation Chobham composite armour (Dorchester Level 2), proven highly effective in operational service.” This is stated on the official British Army website.
  • The Challenger 3 , as confirmed in a MOD press release dated January 16, 2024, features a “next-generation modular armour system providing enhanced protection against modern anti-tank threats.”
  • Historically, during Operation TELIC in Iraq (2003–2009), no Challenger 2 crew member was ever killed due to armour penetration , despite numerous direct hits from RPGs and ATGMs—a testament to the tank’s exceptional survivability.

In contrast, the current in-game performance of these vehicles does not reflect this documented level of protection. Their frontal turret and hull areas are penetrated too easily by weapons that, based on historical evidence and official statements, should not reliably defeat their armour.

I understand that exact numerical specifications of modern armour are classified. However, War Thunder already applies reasonable estimates for other NATO tanks (such as Leopard 2A7+ and M1A2 SEP v3) based on official descriptions and combat performance. I kindly ask that the same standard be applied consistently to British MBTs.

This is not a request for overpowered vehicles, but for historical fidelity and balanced gameplay that aligns with publicly confirmed facts from authoritative sources.
