War Thunder has a large and passionate Chinese player base. We have been deeply engaged in this amazing game, but there is one aspect that leaves us longing for more - the lack of a comprehensive Chinese naval vehicle research and development line.
In the game, the five major powers all have their own well - developed naval research lines, which allows players of these nationalities to experience the evolution and might of their respective navies. However, for Chinese players, we are somewhat left out in this regard. China has a rich naval history, especially in the early days. There were a wide variety of warships, from small patrol boats to larger destroyers and cruisers. These vessels, if properly represented in the game, could form a complete and fascinating research line.
A complete Chinese naval research line would greatly enhance our enthusiasm for the game. It would not only satisfy our patriotic feelings but also provide us with more strategic choices and gameplay experiences. We could relive historical naval battles from a Chinese perspective, and compete with players from other countries on an equal footing in naval battles.
We sincerely hope that the development team can consider adding a Chinese naval vehicle research line. We believe that this will not only enrich the game content but also attract more Chinese players and increase the global popularity of War Thunder. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
It’s not about China but about naval in general. Gaijin hates naval and hasn’t even added the late WW2 ships to the game despite having added all modern tanks and even the ones that are still in development like the Challenger 3. I don’t know why does Gaijin hate naval so much and is neglecting it since this game mode was added and I don’t agree with the “naval is not popular so Gaijin doesn’t focus on it” excuse since it is a loop caused by Gaijin itself that neglected naval in the first place which led to the decrease of its popularity.
They were a brownwater fleet for much of the modern era with only the past decades seeing it build up a vast and impressive blue water fleet of ships that don’t fit into the game.
The only battleship they had was a ironclad as the Navy of that era had ambitions but never the funding to purchase any
Domestically you’ve got the two slightly different Ning Hai cruisers with 25mm of armor and 6 140mm guns, once of which could make for a premium.
A variety of early armored cruisers that usually only had a couple 152mm mounts.
The two laid down but never delivered cruisers ordered from Italy.
An Arethusa class from British.
And then a bunch of reparation destroyers from Japan and several classes of destroyers from the US.
They could build up a coastal tree easily enough but there’s no bones to build up a blue water tree.
