Replace the fake F-16AJ of japan to Thailand F-16ADF

R2Y2 is still in game. Doesnt matter if removed

Tweaking performance isnt the same

it should be removed just like R2Y2

but it was a fun plane no one cares about the minor details

But it isnt

Remove is better than this

I would love to see the F-16A OCU we have in game represented properly. The fact they mashed together all the Thai F-16s into an ahistorical F-16A OCU is insane. Not to mention that they butchered the F-16AJ. It was never flown by Japan or used, and was instead a YF-16 that was proposed but never accepted. If we had every vehicle that Japan was proposed but not accepted, we’d have the F-14.

Anyways, +1
More Thai F-16s.

you probably wouldnt wanna fly the f14 its radar on it is straight buns easiest radar to notch ingame FM is only redeeming feature

Pretty sure Thailand have Block-10 F-16A/Bs, which is what the F-16AJ is based upon.

There is a slight problem with this, though I’m not sure if Gaijin would see it considering they don’t seem to care much.

The F-16A ADF that Thailand bought were specifically converted for AMRAAM use, meaning just like the Italian one that got fixed recently they couldn’t use the AIM-7 anymore. But in the Japanese tree it mainly exists for the ground attack capability it brings, which an ADF wouldn’t have.
So the Thai ADF would be at a higher BR while also lacking the attack capability to fulfill the AJs role.

Personally I think there is a few different solutions:

The first is to fix the OCU, which means removing AMRAAM and HMD, but adding the missing ground attack options like AGM-65G/G-2 and GBU-16 and missing countermeasures. This way the OCU is more unique, finally accurate and fills a similar role. The issue is with IRCCM missiles, a targeting pod and better air to ground weapons it would also sit at a higher BR than the AJ again.

Another option is either a limited Thai OCU with earlier weapons, which works but is boring, or a Thai Block 10 with those limited weapon options. The Block 10 is more interesting, but both were only bought for spare parts so it’s not accurate. Both are now on museum displays though, giving them two unique Thai camouflages.

And the last option is another nations F-16. With Indonesia being added starting next update an Indonesian F-16A could be a good option, while also adding a bit more unqueness by the different operator nation and optional equipment like a drogue chute.
A Singaporean F-16A could also work, these have essentially the same set of weapons as the AJ barring the Sparrow, but are based on a Block 30 airframe instead of the usual Block 15 airframe. Some of these former Singaporean F-16As are also now in Thai service, so they could add camouflages for both nations.

Out of all the proposals I’ve seen for the F-16AJ, changing the name and flag to be that of the equivalent Thai aircraft is actually one of the least invasive

Thank you for the great idea :)

Why do american F5s get CMs?

only problem is Block 10 F16s dont carry radar missiles so it shouldnt be a block 10

Because they complain too much

If same i couldnt care less.

If less CMs, differnent loadout/ BR …riot

Seems out of character though. I don’t think Thailand have any Block 10 F-16s that used Sparrows either, so I imagine it’d be making it unobtainable and adding a Thai or Indonesian F-16A at 12.3, as I don’t think they used Sparrows or had any other upgrades.

to put them at a more suitable BR because if they where historically accurate they would be like a J35A which is exteremly strong at its BR F5 vs F100 mig 19s the F5 will always win hence why the F5 is 10.7

Lots of aircraft didnt use the loadouts they had in game. So its nothing new

yes cause a block 10 cant carry sparrows its not something that is possible
