Removed/Unique/Exclusive Tank Skins List

Hello everyone!

I had an issue finding any list of unique camouflages in the game, so I have decided to collect them here, for posterity / future reference. These camouflages cannot be unlocked through regular gameplay, GE or Gaijin store.

Additionally, each of the major event vehicles (e.g. these awarded in Operation S.U.M.M.E.R.) typically have their own unique camos that can or cannot be sold on the market. These are intentionally missing from the list. And just to be clear: this list is intentionally missing tournament camos that can be bought on the market, e.g. from 2023 ranked battles, even if they are super-expensive (or another example: T-80U from 2019 War Thunder League Finals Events and Activities).

did not get any unique (non-tradeable, non-event vehicle) camouflages, as far as I’m aware.

Final remarks:

• Non-italic means I don’t know the exact name of the skin in the game (e.g. “eSport”)
• To view images in a larger size, right-click on the image and open it in a new tab. All of them are down-sized to 100px, but each was uploaded in a higher resolution.
• Vast majority of pre-orders do not have unique camouflages. Instead, they offer titles and/or decals and/or 3d decorations.
• There was a similar list built on an old forum for Airplanes - Removed/Rare/Exclusive Plane Skins by @Sean0_0 (community/live)

I added camos from the 2020 Tank Biathlon and Sea Biathlon event.

The event lasted 13 days in August 2020 and featured a combination of 4 colors (red, blue, green and yellow) on 10 vehicles: 🇨🇳🇷🇺T-72B3, 🇨🇳🇷🇺T-80U, 🇺🇸M1A2 Abrams, 🇩🇪Leopard 2A5, 🇬🇧Challenger 2 (2F), 🇯🇵Type 90 (B), 🇨🇳ZTZ96A, 🇮🇹Ariete PSO, 🇫🇷Leclerc and 🇸🇪Strv 122. Camos are named simply “Red”, “Blue”, “Green” and “Yellow”, can be scaled and rotated at will creating some nice effects (each of the camo is made of stripes in white, {{color}}, black)

I couldn’t find any official screenshots of each one of them separately, so I used screenshots from the two videos linked (video1, video2).

This event, unlike all the others, it seems to be gone from the English-language War Thunder page (original URL: https://warthunder.com/en/news/6838-event-tank-biathlon-and-sea-biathlon-en). No idea why…

At the time of writing, the Tank Biathlon and Sea Biathlon is the only known source of unique camos for Great Britain, China, Italy and Sweden.

Thanks for all the screenshots! I’ll update the list to include them in the miniatures. Great stuff. If you have naval camos from the Sea Biathlon, I would love if you could screenshot them too - I’m yet to find those camos pictured anywhere online, and I wanted to create an equivalent of this list for the naval vessels.

I’ll include all the unique skins I found while looking through my trees (that you can’t get on the marketplace). I’ll also include some of the default skins for one-off vehicles, as well as the some Twitch drop skins. Regretfully (no regrets), I didn’t grind out the Biathlon naval skins, so I don’t have those. I did play the mode a little bit, and I saw there definitely were a sizeable amount of people grinding for them, so someone should still have them on their account.

There were a bunch of tricolour summer skins that various event vehicles got as part of their event, but just about all of those skins are now found on the Marketplace, so I decided against including them.

Added a few other camos to the list. I think the biggest mystery is the DMM’s Game Sampo special camouflage (Japanese: ゲームさんぽ 専用塗装) - it’s a collab with a youtube channel that they did in 2023.

If anyone can share a screenshot of that - I’d appreciate :) Same as with the new registration bonus skin for the PzII C DAK.

Final Note
It seems to me that the T-34-85 (D-5T)'s TL camo is labeled as [Thunder League] Desert Camouflage, not [Thunder League] Guard Officers. Seems to me they might have changed the name.
