then you have LB 82 which is on Hunter F.58 that is also 9.7
then you have 2 other Skyhawk that for some reason get a lower BR which is 9.3 even though it both can carry GBU-8
on the other hand first IR/TV AGM on soviet is 11.0 which is on Su-17M4
and on chinese it is a bit earlier which is 10.3
AGM-62 and GBU-8 are both unpowered guided bombs, the AGM-62 designation is misleading
doesnt matter that much since players will just lock it, lob it and turn away long before any SPAA at that tier can do anything

except ucav you wont find any KAB on soviet jets until 11.3
Hunter F58’s are Mavericks.
Either way they’re the same effective range as the bombs.
And Su-17M4’s weapons are also the same effective range as Hunter’s.
and SU-17m4 is at 11.0 while they already enjoyed it as early as 9.3 and had the gal to complain about imbalance
The separate ground and air BRs should’ve let the Su-17M4 move down to 10.3 in ground at least, if not lower. It hasn’t yet though…
SB for early modern tank was literally unplayable because of this, when all of the players from western side can just pop in their A-7, A-10, F.58, GR.1A and just lobbing on the soviet/china players with little to no efforts. it is fine if they have the advantage. it is only unfair when the other side get them
Can the same not be said about the post-release correction that SALH ordnance has in comparison to F&F seekers. (F-4E should have Pave Spike TGP & Laser seeking PGMs for example)
And besides the Kh-25L is far more precise than the AGM-12 that serves as a MCLOS baseline, and from low altitude & airspeeds much outrange the available Glide bombs (and their Glide ratio is probably too good).
Also correcting the lock-on range advantage of Early Contrast seekers was rejected because “gaming convention”.

Let’s take example. Su25 with KH25L vs A10 on mavericks.
What is more likely to take actually a kill. Newsflash, mavericks.
25L is useable when you actually get targeting pod / locking ability on target. But there’s no optics to use.
And first jet to get thermal’s on targeting on Soviet is actually SU25SM,

Why not, not burry the lead and compare the A-7D and Su-17M2, both are similarly equipt with no Targeting pod, and practically as low as you are going to find unaided guided ordnance.
Depends on the target and threat systems, a LAV-AD isn’t going to be doing much at all against either the A-10 or Su-25 since they both out range it significantly, and without a search radar is unlikely to notice the Pop up for a time.
And? The first US airframe to get SALH PGMs is the F-111F, needing to hope that the Seeker doesn’t fail in some way can be quite annoying.

I rather use A10 compared to A7D, since both are on same BR, but A10 is a lot better CAS plane.
And funny to compare range of A10 and SU25 , A10 outranges SU25 by a half map.
And no matter is it TV or IR seeker, I would be glad to have F&F weapons more than 2 without losing selfdefence below 11.3 soviets.
And why would anyone use laser quided munition on a plane, what has IR seeker weaponry available
and that 25SM pointing was that soviet cas just dont have optics to use 25L’s, before 25ST

The A-7(D) is a far fairer comparison, between airframes as the A-10 is very slow and differently optimized for a CAS role rather than Strike.
Well that’s more an issue of how stations are laid out, I’m sure if there was a counterpart to the OV-10 or A-37 it would have been added in short order to fill said role.
Much larger & HE warhead and reduced SP cost, it opens up some options for loadouts and downloading to make an aircraft more useful, or allows it to be further optimized for the more heavily armored target set.
And? point the nose at a threat, it dies. It’s not hard. And its not like TGPs are that common at lower BRs (even though there are many options) anyway.

And unfortunately, it just doesnt work like that ingame, rarely you have luxury of time to just aim on target and not worry about AA, and while having 0 optics , you really need to be close to aim properly. Yes , coming on Stinger range.
But yes, no matter how much people try to complain about USSR cas, funny thing is , until on top tier USSR cas is actually quite bad. And on top tier they rely on missile busses using 4-6 KH38’s
