Remove auto flap retraction. Many of the aircraft in game don’t really have it, or can be overriden, or have much higher retraction speeds. This probably comes as the result for the lazification of the game mechanics, as most of the aircraft in game have similar flap rip speeds (300IAS) across most BR brackets.
P47, Tempest, F-4E, MiG21 etc.
Many of the aircraft in game that had little chances to defend or lead into the target no longer have it thanks to autoflap.
I’m really tired (as we all are) of gaijin giving the 737max treatment to planes and their players.
If you have proof of that aircraft being able to override the automatic flap system (or doesn’t have one) then you can report it. You can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)
as i said before, many aircraft that have auto flap retraction store them much earlier than their VNE / mach values.
F-4E’s takeoff flaps (slats 15, flaps 5) as per game setting are not deploying past 400IAS, despite them being usable up to 700 IAS back in the day when the f-4 phantom (all) had unrestricted flap deployment. Same issue for the f-5e as it mentions. The very fact that flaps were unrestricted on f-5e and the deflection was so little, the plane itself could toe to toe with the mig19s and the j7e when it could deploy takeoff flaps (leading edge droopers 15 deg, flaps 5) up to mach 1 managing ridiculous instantaneous turn rates, now restricted to below 800 IAS where f-5 should do better without flaps as it is its sweet spot for nose-up attitude towards the target.
Some aircraft with FBW FCS can override some fundamental control operations, but what I’m complaining about is that most aircraft’s flaps structural speed limits are very similar across all ranks and types and most autoflaps actuate at around 20 IAS earlier than the warning indicator speed.
I don’t understand your issue, as far as i can tell your issue is plane specific and needs to be reported with proof for each aircraft you think is incorrectly modeled. What other aircraft do or used to do in the game is irrelevant for any other aircrafts capabilities.
If you have proof that something is wrongly modeled then report it. Basing something on what other aircraft do isn’t going to help.
The F-4E started automatically retracting flaps at a speed as low as 230 kts (425 km/h) in real life.
Ever considered that might be because most aircraft have a similar flap deployment limits in real life?
That is usually how it works in the real life. Using the F-4E as an example flap retraction begins as low as 230 kts, while the flaps speed limit is 250 kts.
