apds will shred anything light frontally, just dont shoot where the engine is cause that is going to soak damage

The BMP-2 is the worst IFV at its BR. It doesn’t get APDS stock, it has poor mobility, poor armour and cannot penetrate some IFV’s and light tanks frontally, namely the Marder, Desert Warrior, Type 16. However, those tanks can penetrate the BMP-2 with ease. Further, it has worse gun depression and handling compared to those IFVs. Anything I missed?
You have a missile and you have good fire rate and the Soviet BMP-2 can’t be killed through the turret frontally by 50 cal. Its pretty good imo

The only other ifv at 8.7 is the bmp2 with only a gun. I think you mean br range.
its easily the best one. its fast, it has an amazing cannon, its got good protection against autocannons frontally, and it has a decent missile to boot. which vehicles do you struggle to pen?
multiple bug reports have been passed, each with better sources, and the mods cant do much to affect what order the devs fixes things ;w;

A heavier less armored BMP that has to fight heavy armored soviet vehicles every match and the only benefit it has is thermals which are gimmicks at best since you can’t pen most things and you have a drone. Literally no reason the 2MD shpuld be the same BR. Especially when you also only get the 1 belt of APDS
Maybe US heavies? Russia literally is the best nation for IFV’s because everyone else has no side armor

those are a small minority you find at that br. with the abundance of leos, of40s and type 74s it eats good
Again that was the only thing i could think of, i dont meet US heavies to often but when i do i normally just run away since the 2MD doesn’t have a missile launcher and only 250 rounds of apds is very limiting, especially when it weighs more and has less armor than the Soviet model at the same BR.

No, it has the same apds as the BMP-2 on russia which is like 82mm pen, if you run slow rate of fire people will turn their tank slightly and you will start shell shattering. Thats a dumb idea unfortunately, trust me i tried originally lol

Not really? I have no idea what you struggle with when they are some of the more easy vehicles to kill imo.

desert warrior is 10.0. marder and type 16 just arent
Yes, they’re easy to kill side on (thats not my point; the BMP-2 is good at flanking) but frontally it struggles. In most engagements, you’d face their light tanks against yours, not side on.
it really doesnt against marders and type 16, i easily kill them with bradley let alone bmp2.
