The Ho-Ri Production in-game was never built.
The Prototype was in the early phases of what a probable 3rd evolution of the design would be.

None have been.
And the Ho-Ri I (slopped) is actually the most advanced one with a wooden mockup done of it; while the Ho-Ri I and Ho-Ri II would be using the same hull as the Chi-Ri project (and not the opposite).
So if we don’t count the 105mm gun, the only one that left the drawing is the Ho-Ri I with the slopped UFP.

This is beyond the point.
You folks approve Soviet Heavy Cruisers and Battleships that were never built for the USSR Naval Line, that were nothing but a metal skin. No guns, no floor, nothing.

Yet apparently the O-I is insufficient, and all the Japanese tanks and planes that have been suggested over the years aren’t sufficient. It’s just an excuse; we Japan mains put a lot of care and time, and we get rewarded with nothing in return. No wonder we Japan mains have given up trying to communicate. You folks are actively making us extinct.

As previously explained several times now, ships have entirely different requirements to be added to the game, due to the nature of their construction:

As we have made clear since 2021, ships have a different minimum requirement to be in game since they didn’t have prototype versions. Ships just have to be laid down for them to be considered in game:

So the comparison to the O-I here is not the same, as it a tank. Which has different requirements to be considered for the game. Sadly we cannot add something that lacks the available clear information to add in the first place.

This Double Standard always bothered me. Either all project vessels get removed on the same basis as did the Planes like R2Y2 and Ground Vehicles like Panther II, or the Naval Standards get extended to Air and Ground Forces.

If Naval is such an Anti-Thesis to the core War Thunder principle of historically accurate vehicles, then it should not have been introduced in the first place.

I cannot speak for others, but I want and like unique vehicles, I play the removed German Tanks lineup almost exclusively for example. It is a shame and a mistake to remove them and add Copy Paste slop in their stead as replacements.

What were the German Tanks replaced with? Some completely unrelated American Tanks and an SPAA (Ostwind II) that is more controversial than the Coelian ever was. And then a Premium Ostwind II was sold in the Two Fronts Pack as a Premium with victory marks, as if that thing was a real vehicle that saw Combat. It did not.

What were the R2Y2’s replaced with? Copy Paste American Planes, some Thailand Paintjob, roundels and markings doesn’t make it new content.

No matter how historically inaccurate, every vehicle removed looks authentic and is grounded on some period accurate project or more.

Rather than leading this crusade against some of the best gameplay content in War Thunder, how about Gaijin Devs focus on the fake matchmaking that is a time travel mess, and more Game modes and Ground Progression that is equivalent to Air?

I think its probably because you don’t randomly make a Prototype Capital Ship until the plans are more or less finalised.

Even ships that had to go thru some major modifications like Ise class vs Fuso class still had their main specifications very close to the Originall designs. Or even the redesigned Kongo and Nagato classes.

Don’t forget Ersatz Yorck only had 5% of her completed compared to 20% of Sovetsky Soyuz lol

There’s literally images of Maus with V2 hull and V2 turret doing testing. The surviving vehicle is the V2 turret and V1 hull.

There’s literally no issues here. It was a functioning prototype. If the model is reflecting the surviving vehicle then that’s a model issue, not a historical one.
