So as i noticed on dev server (Removal of distance fuze on s24, s25, zunis etc) this change has indeed gone live. What a sad detriment to rocket gameplay, i would like to continue the discussion here, refer to the original thread for my reasoning as to why this is a bad change.
In the mean time all we can hope for that this will be replaced by a new system, as stuff like Werfergranate 21 is entirely premised on having some kind of delayed detonation mechanism and for s24/s25/zunis it just takes away an entirely skill based and gameplay enriching mechanic for using your rockets in air to air combat.
I also noticed today, after trying out the updated client, that the fuze has been removed from the rocket.
Given that this isn’t mentioned in the release notes, unless it’s something they particularly want to keep hidden, I’d like to believe that this is simply a bug.
I hope the bug report is accepted and that the fuze settings are restored to us.
Evidence: A dedicated discussion thread with over 380 views and multiple replies, where players confirm the removal and unanimously request its reversal.
Yeah sorry i should have provided more, but since its an actual mechanic since 2013 it shouldnt been removed.
( corrected it from evidence to just community speech )
Funny rocket shenanigans.
Also maybe they just removed it by mistake?
Did you encounter similar dev mistake in the past similar to this?
It doesn’t. Proximity fuses cause weird behaviours against the bomber damage model at present, that detriment the munition that is detonating near the target. The rockets are better served with direct hits on bombers at present, this is likely just another dubious decision to add to the pile of other dubious decisions.
We’re not talking about proxy fuses here, we’re talking about distance fuses. If you time it right the rocket can explode right next to the bomber with a distance fuse, proximity fuse issues do not apply.
I’m aware of what you’re on about, and unfortunately it will still behave worse than if you hit the aircraft directly. If it is not in contact with the skin of the aircraft, it behaves askew.
So they have officially put the removal of the distance fuses into the latest changelog ( 2.59.0.28 ).
Now, i don’t know where to find sources on if zunis or S-24 had timed fuses, and if you can be of assistance with getting primary documents on this i would greatly appreciate it, however i do know exactly where to find information on the fuse of the Wfr.Gr.21.
So I have made a corresponding bug report using a primary source. Please click on “i have same issue” to get the bug report managers to read and approve it so we can at least save one of these rockets from ahistorical nonsense.
