Regarding sound mods and setting config.blk to read-only

I know sound mods are currently disabled… but regarding the trick where you can set config.blk to read-only, assuming the game even lets you log in at all, could this get me banned? I am not exactly modifying the sound files themselves, everything still lives in the mod folder. I just want my RCSM :( I don’t care if i crash every so often (that already happens normally because of nvidia’s terrible drivers) I know that sound mods already carry a risk of getting you banned but still.

I wouldnt risk it tbh, but i hope there will be an update on soundmods soon.

There is probably a risk of that yes. If circumventing an intended restriction to modify game files into something not present in the original game isn’t a ban risk then i don’t know what is.

Even the original sound mods aren’t directly safe either. It’s even then at the users own risk.
