I got a suggestion for some of the belts for the Lvakan m/36 to combat different threats more consistantly.
This would affect the Lvtdgb m/40, L/62 Anti-II
Default Belt:
Default belt is fine as it is and follows the logic of war thunders Stock belts for AA vehicles. And is similar to the M19 Gun carrier and Duster m/42
AP-HE-AP-HE
The AA/HE belt should be:
sgr m/46-47 B ö hk sar m/36 D Not in-game (HEFI) 860 m/s slsgr m/36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s sgr m/46-47 B ö hk sar m/36 D Not in-game (HEFI) 860 m/s slsgr m/36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s
Instead of
slsgr m/36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s slsgr m/36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s slsgr m/36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s slpprj m/42 in-game (AP-T) 800 m/s
Ground/AP Belt should be:
slpprj m/42 in-game (AP-T) 800 m/s slhpgr m/43 B in-game (SAPHEI) 880 m/s slpprj m/42 in-game (AP-T) 800 m/s slhpgr m/43 B in-game (SAPHEI) 880 m/s
Instead of
slhpgr m/43 B in-game (SAPHEI) 880 m/s slhpgr m/43 B in-game (SAPHEI) 880 m/s slhpgr m/43 B in-game (SAPHEI) 880 m/s slsgr m/ 36 C ö hk sar m/36 in-game (HEFI-T) 850 m/s
I have no idea to get this actually into the game…
This belt layout would be optimal and make sense over the current belt layouts. So if anybody knows how i would go about to do this please tell lol
Would this be a good replacement for the current belts?
Yes.
No.
No, They should be laid out differently (respond how please)
The Crusader mk1 is comparable to the L/62 Anti-II allbeit the crusader has more protection, only issue is the SAPHEI, can also just make it into one further mod for the SAPHEI and make a AP-T only belt as the standard AP belt:
XM246 and L-62 are very different vehicles. One of them truly is anti-everything the other has a ROF of 120 Rpm. It’s basically a light Tank with no scouting bruh
At its current BR, the L-62 Anti-II really isn’t that problematic. It’s moreso the Lvtdgb m/40 that strikes me as a bit busted since it gets to face less armored vehicles more often, where the SAP really shines.
With better AP belt options, I could see the Lvtdgb going up to 3.0. It wouldn’t actually make either vehicle that much stronger or harder to player against in practice. The odd belt arrangements already aren’t affording the receiving player enough time for counterplay most of the time anyways, so this is just giving the player in the SPAA a slightly more comfortable experience.
That being said, I am a proponent of adding somewhat steep SP penalties to SPAA AP belts (case by case basis) as a disincentive to running them as tank destroyers, instead of trying to rely on counterintuitive belt combinations as a balance factor, which are ahistorical and have already been shown to be an ineffective measure.
I think the Swedish 40 mm SPAA would be an appropriate instance to apply such a SP modifiers, effectively limiting them to a handful of AP clips for self-defense.
true but i have been victim to the L-62 even in some pretty thickly armoured vehicles in front on fights because of the normal autocanon spamfire the canon and then track them issues.
Autocanon spaa are inherantly going to be within the meta of this game for as long as they get 50mm+ penning rounds.
Sounds like a pretty good comprimise from my rather puritan “no AP for any SPAA” approach and gaijins current SPAA tank hunting hell.
would make it so these glass canons have more risk to them (other than XM246, that thing tanks 90mm heat to the turret all the damn time, screw that guy)
+1, but reduce the muzzle flash, and add extra ammo or ammo boxes for the LvKv 42. Even with an ammo box currently it’s woefully lacking in total ammo and uses it quickly.
Its swedens duster with more ammo than the Lvkv 42
Besides the Lvkv 42 has more issues than low ammunition its inside is incorrectly moddelled and its gun fires the wrong ammo its supposed to have similar ammo to the AMX-13 DCA 40 with 1000m/s instead of its 850~ m/s
