not even 4090
I’m using a 4060ti the 8gb version and getting a consistent 100-120fps in arb on max everything, besides motion blur which is turned off entirely
My point isnt really RT cores vs accelerators
At the end of the day neither AMD or nvidia have the entire BVH pipeline in dedicated hardware yet
My point is AMD has hardware that can run raytracing because appearently people still think its only a RTX feature
My own AMD GPU can run hardware based raytracing and it works fine in games that have it
I know its worse than nvidia Just understand AMD can run it too
Don’t worry. Almost no computers run Raytracing well when it’s actually in depth, and even when they do, it’s RARELY worth the performance hit or other compromises.
And from there… It’s not really… that important? Especially in a game with so much movement speed (at least in planes) and hyperfocus on tiny things in the distance.
Realistically this game is played by most people with most graphics settings cranked down, especially in ground lol. Don’t need wild shadows/glare/grass blocking your view.
DW, few if any computers will be running fully raytraced high res war thunder with native resolution.
Even when they can, it will be more comfortable for most players to turn it off anyway to prevent stuttering or frame drops / keep the average framerate higher.
It’ll be used for screenshots or cinematics, but high res native gameplay, no.
Partial or nerfed rt may be playable. Depends also on your specific specs, and if they actually optimize for your card.
It isn’t really AMD’s fault tbeh, it’s just which things they prioritized first.
This is dev side, not AMD.
Getting over 100 FPS, with Ray tracing on max on a 4k resolution
ray tracing ultra and DLSS or SSAA x4 TAA? i get 100 and more in Air battle , with tank depends on map also at 40 fps with ultra and ssaa x 4 , i have 4080 super on 2 K
Leaving this here just in case someone comes across it!
Will ray tracing ever be available on linux / vulcan?
Any news about Ray Tracing for AMD and Intel GPUs?
@Stona_WT @Smin1080p_WT
Maybe mods or devs can say something about the status of RT for other GPU vendors?
I asked a few days ago,
Answer: nothing new to say
12 fps tracing
Hahahah. Yeah, I’ve done everything in my power to use it, but I just can’t.
Game goes from 165 FPS (or 120 capped as I am now) to 80 with drops down to 50. Even capped at 70, there’s still drops down to 45.
I don’t know if it’s poorly optimized or if it’s just THAT resource-hungry, but… F.
Hoping to get this available on AMD soon, would love to give it a go with my 7900 xtx
MAN I BOUGHT A RTX 4070 TWO MONTHS AGO AND ALREADY YOUR GIVING IT A RUN FOR IT’S MONEY, Grhhhhh and it isn’t like there SLI to make my Old GTX1650ti as a “support” card
Just tried the dev server last night and was able to use ray tracing. My settings are 5120x1440p @ max graphics
Specs:
7800X3D
32GB RAM
Slightly OC’d Sapphire 7900 XTX Nitro +
FPS:
No ray tracing
140-160 fps
Low ray tracing
80 fps
Max ray tracing with minimum distance, lowest ambient occlusion
60-70 FPS
Max ray tracing
20-35 fps, lots of flickering, basically unplayable
No upscaling yet though.
Thanks for sharing these results! I’m currently playing on 7680x2160 widescreen, if the performance loss remains comparable RT probably won’t be an option without upscaling. But FSR quality might be acceptable, and I could always ease of the other settings a bit
My problem with Ray Tracing right now is that, for some reason, it often freezes the entire game for 25-30 seconds at random.
With upscaling, I theorically would be able to run it at 90-ish FPS, and 80-ish without it. I would be willing to sacrifice 100 FPS.ñ for Ray Tracing; but the random mid-game 30 second freezes make me unable to.
