when I run Ray Tracing, it bogs down one CPU core and I get poor performance. GPU is doing nothing.
If I run only Test Drive, I get about 115 FPS at 1440p, everything max. Good.
If I run any multiplayer, I can see that one CPU core is like 100 max loaded, others not doing much and GPU is too not loaded. Performance is barely 60 fps with extreme spikes.
Is this normal?:) Do you guys have the same experience and maybe have more single core power?
I run a 7800 XT
1900X Threadripper
16 gigs fast DDR4 memory
yeah. RayTracing is like a splinter in the bottom. Every game has its problems and now thanks to Nvidia, you can add +1 to every games problem, and that is RayTracing.
What Im baffled by the most is that I get a GPU, it states RTX ready, I come home, run a game, check the stats and what it looks like is that at least 50 percent of the calculations of the RayTracing are done on the CPU?? I mean it just eats cores, this tracing.
So why is RTX on the card, when in fact its the CPU that is obviously carrying the biggest load… I mean, Intel could as well call their CPUs RTX ready, not the I3:] but you know…
