Hi,i’ve never been able to use ray tracing even though i got a new pc with an rx 9060xt 16gigs,9600x and 32gb ram ddr5.Whenever i disable the ssaa to enable ray tracing even with max setting my general resolution and graphic quality gets worse.I’ve been trying for so long to find a solution but nothing worked.
Hmmm, I’m not sure, I am not an expert with AMD GPU’s, but I have some questions about your setup that might help us assist you:
- VERY IMPORTANT! Are you 100% sure your monitor is plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard 😉? I would assume most gamers know about this, but just want to double check 👍
- It might be helpful if you could post the exact model of your monitor. Not the serial number (best to not post “personal” info like that.) If you are not sure, the model info will be printed on the sticker on the back of your monitor.
-
Are you using an HDMI cable or Display Port cable? Are you using one of the cables that came with your monitor? Display Port cables are typically better for high resolution + high refresh rates. SOME very new HDMI cables can do 4k resolution at 120hz or higher, but they are not common. This is especially relevant if you are using a cable that did NOT come with your monitor.
-
What resolution is your monitor, and are you running at its maximum/native resolution?
-
What is your monitor’s maximum refresh rate? And do you have your computer/desktop set to its max refresh?
-
Does your monitor support Freesync/Gsync? If yes, is that enabled on the monitor itself? (In its settings, on the hardware itself, not talking about in the computer software.) Then, if your monitor supports it, and you have it turned on in the Monitor AND in the GPU software on your computer, do you have any VSYNC type settings turned on? (USUALLY you want all instances of VSYNC turned OFF when using Freesync/Gsync. There are some caveats for Nvidia GPU’s, but since you are using an AMD GPU, I am pretty sure you want VSYNC OFF in the GPU software, and in game.)
-
What FPS are you normally getting, and do you have any FPS limit set in either your GPU software or in game? If you are using Freesync/Gsync, you typically want FPS limiters OFF. They can sometimes interfere with Freesync/Gsync (again, there are some caveats with Nvidia GPU’s, but even then, you do not want to be using a hard FPS limiter in the game. If you REALLY want to hard limit your Refresh/FPS, best to change the refresh rate of your computer/desktop [with Windows] rather than setting an FPS limiter.)
-
Are you using multiple monitors or just one? Multiple monitor setups use more of your GPU’s power, especially if they are high resolution and/or if the secondary monitor is set to a high refresh rate.
