ARH missiles enter IOG when they cannot acquire your plane with pulse or pd mode, if you change your course fast enough you could evade the missile that way without chaff, however it is much easier said than done and I have only managed to do it a few times.
They don’t switch off their radars though, which is why they can start tracking again after having entered IOG mode.
Most of the time, they will miss due to IOG Drift so you don’t need to even do that much.
It’s just the GNSS ones you need to be a bit careful about (Aim-120D and PL-12A)

Until for some reason they flawlessly intercept you through half a dozen mountains, and maneuvers that would have most things fall out of the sky. Game’s consistently inconsistent.
quite the opposite actually. the the faster you are most difficult it gets. if you are slow enough it won’t even trigger.
Personally I don’t really know how to explain what really happened here(I was afk until the very last moment) and I felt that if I were going even slower those micas would have sure hit me
Funny, MICA seems to miss all the time in many of ballistic simulations compared to others.
It makes no sense to me considering it still has enough speed to go after me and a smaller seeker fov compared to other missiles.
Considering it can miss but no way the proximity fuze not detonate.

from experience, the faster you are the easier it is to evade via notch&chaff, but it’s probably that you move out of seeker fov faster
I mean these people already spent their 60 games to pay the BOL tax so they would vote against it to make their sacrifice worth it
Yes, the faster you go the tighter the notch you need to have to evade the missile.
Notching is done to reduce the effectiveness of Doppler radars. Doppler radars can only see objects going towards or away from its sensor, with a dead zone at a specific approach speed in game. By turning sideways you reduce that approach speed to the radar. And with simple trigonometry you find that the faster you go the more you have to notch. Or the slower you go the less you need to notch, to a point where VTOL aircrafts and helicopters are invulnerable to fox 3s when in hover (obviously as gaijin doesn’t model rotor speed for helicopters, IRL they would be easy to track for fox 3s)
I think gaijin should also revert all grind and event related stuff for people like that. Because some other people would like to make their sacrifice worth it too.
Like old bomber repair costs, no free fpe, no stock darts and much more grindy events which force you to play stuff you dont care about.
And every time those olds face stuff I mentioned, game will ask them if they enjoy it.
