I think the lack of missiles limited the bvr ability, chaffs are more important within 15km

I don’t think that’s punishment at all. If they voted no, they probably don’t need them and don’t use them anymore same as I don’t use them. xD
But I voted yes but still I dont plan use them because I need flares more. If the Soviets got S-8P/PM on their planes, then I would start using them.

Chaffs are mostly useless anyway for non HDN radars/missile is in view anyway.
You can’t easily chaff ARHs these days because the plane radar takes over.
Just press chaff while being on 90 degs of MSL RWR warnings, you’ll see it does almost nothing.
Chaffing works best against fox 1 jets AND the enemy jet radar is no longer illustrating the target.
It does almost nothing against fox 3 jets unless the arh and the jet radar just happens to be facing 90 degs away from you at same time, which is a very specific scenario.
The jet can reacquire you as a target anyway as soon as you thrown off the missile

what a horrible take, its used for notching if you get killed by missiles because you see them only at the last moment, that’s a you issue tbh
you can do it with 3 to 5 chaff if you know how to notch, also you can change altittudes to mess with the plane’s radar and break datalink
its not turn and click, and the angle best for notching an attack 95-100 degrees
modern targets are obviously significantly harder to chaff and even then it dosent require much
again, you can throw the datalink off, unless its GPS wich still you can change the direction to where you are flying once you break lock if you still struggle against those

I defend against 90% of Fox-3s through notch and chaff and it works 90-95% of the time. (I blame the remaining 5-10% on the current state of BOL)
If you’re playing on abysmal connections, chaff becomes very inconsistent.
Yet another case for servers in ignored yet populated regions.
