Introduction

The Breviceps, also known as the rain frog, is a fearsome amphibian that will haunt your nightmares and has now set it’s sights to take on vehicular combat in War Thunder as the tank nature had always intended for it to be.

Behavior

Rain frogs are know to be rather timid creatures, spending most of the day buried in the soil and only emerging during and after it rains in order to feed on small insects. When threatened, rain frogs will puff up their body and make a loud earth shattering scream to warn off foes, a similar sound to those made by War Thunder players when experiencing any form of gameplay.

Potential in War Thunder

The rain Frog, despite being a small frog and not a vehicle of war, has many features that could make it an incredible ambush hunter in War Thunder’s chaotic landscape.

Firstly, rain frogs are exceptional at digging, a feature mostly forgotten in War Thunder but incredibly relevant to this small creature, as it can use terrain deformation to make itself nearly unnoticeable to enemy forces.

If you thought bush decorations on tanks were bad, think again.

Secondly, being quadrupeds unlike pretty much every vehicle in the game, rain frogs would have incredibly good vertical modularity in the game, allowing them to easily abuse cover positions and scout ahead.

The following photos show how effectively the rain frog is able to stalk it’s prey from behind both tall and shallow cover.

Finally, and most importantly, the rain frogs’ smooth round shape is designed perfectly for deflecting incoming kinetic projectiles. This is well exemplified by the following scientific diagram:

Despite this, rain frogs are absolutely prone to overpressure as they have no armor to speak of, and should therefore be aware of any enemies using HE shell types.
