It does highlight why it’s how it is now though. Earlier designs tend to be weaker than current top vehicles, hence why they can be added earlier. AFAIK, stealth for other nations would basically mean adding 5th gen fighters now, which Gaijin is working to, but we aren’t yet there.
Unless you have examples of other nation stealth vehicles of similar power as the currently added ones, then I guess you’re right. But I don’t really know of any. What you’re essentially othwerise suggesting with the post is that the comanche and F-117 should’ve been postponed until after the 5th gen F-35 for all update essentially, which may still be quite some time.
stealth is only working when the bombs bay closed. See the syrians SPAA shot down 2 F-117 because of its bomb bay was opened. Stealth doesnt mean that you cant see it on the radar, its just to hard to find it.
Russia gets a paper rocket now in the marathon also paper object 640, and most importantly this is already the second exclusive copy-paste since the beginning of the new marathon other countries have not received anything yet, only the usual copy-paste. The US built and tested all this a long time ago, and the rest refused this, considering that a plane with a thrust vector is better and therefore continued to build the old way and changed their minds only recently, therefore they are too modern for the game. P.s. If we talk about unfair, then the red team is ahead of everyone in getting the best (how many years has the Pantsir been there already) while others are waiting for 5 years.
Su-57 is too far, something more along the lines of the MiG 1.44 or early prototypes that have very little stealth ability with the advent of better weapons, same with other nations.
Shall I list all the decisions gaijin has made over the years to keep the soviets competitive? I don’t think I can, but I will start:
KA-50/52 dominance in GRB for years which has only recently come to an end because of #3
Only nation with decent spaa for like three years
Best CAS nation in game b/c of the KH-38MT and S-130Fs
UFO soviet armor
Unwillingness to give NATO CAS FnF capabilities or NATO ground modern rounds for MBTs b/c soviets have no analogues and would obliterate balance between ground vehicles
Questionable additions to the game such as the Kronshtadt and the Sevastopol
Made center-mass hit to NATO mbts always disable turret traverse based on little to no evidence
Nerfs to stingers because “muh igla”
PT-76-57, BMP-2s, and 2S38 are criminally under-BR’d while the Bradley is useless at the same BR. Speaking of, 50 cals got an overheating mechanic because “too op,” but no overheating for these?
Thermals for T-80B and U based on single prototype, but still waiting on those prototype Abrams hulls…
Stealth is pretty much irrelevant in the game because of the map sizes and distances involved. It still has the same Hellfires and ATAS as the AH-64D. It’s just going to be a gimmick and probably sell a lot because it looks cool, but that’s about it.
The only thing that annoys me it’s that it’s a premium and not an event reward or tech tree. I’d love to get my hands on it, but I’m not paying 70-80 bucks for a vehicle on a tech tree I already grinded.
Stealth helicopters are absolutely real, the Bin Laden raid was done with Silent Hawks (stealth Blackhawks), which were built with lessons learned from the RAH-66 program almost 30 years earlier. The efficacy of the Comanche’s stealth mechanics are only questionable due to the F-117’s implementation in-game, which as we all know is 85% useless. Was the Comanche in reality on par with the Nighthawk in terms of stealth? Not at all. But again what it comes down to is what Gaijin dictates and the fact that War Thunder, despite its claim to fame being, “realism” is highly unrealistic.
