why would these be squadron vehicles instead of tech tree.
its not like there is a rule about prototypes that never entered service needing the be squadron vehicles.

Because arent production models. Same case with SU-37 and SU-47
yes but there are vehicles like yak141, HSTVL, chally 3 TD, and more that are in the tech tree that either never entered production or were never intended to enter production
Well. If they want to put it in the technology tree, let them put it in
HSTV-L was technically the sole production vehicle. It was literally built to be used for testing how viable the idea of that kind of vehicle was hence the name High Survivability TEST Vehicle-Light; they just decided that it wasn’t the best choice to go with tank design over conventional designs
