The MICA can be fired from beyond the gimbal limit of the radar by using IRAF and switching to radar lock. Done at 20km or less. Off bore shots at extreme gimbal limits is something the Rafale is quite good at.

r-77-1 can do the same

90% of ARH missiles are easy to notch due to the notch window being quite large. Datalink is not the key limiting factor. The fact that the short-medium range kinematics of the MICA.are superior to every other missile and that the missile is less sensitive to notching are more decisive factors then outright long range missile performance. I can let an Su-30SM2 shoot it’s whole load of missile load at me and as long as I maintain roughly 90 degrees to it then all of the missiles will miss.

not if theyre datalining which a su30sm2 can do quite easily whilst defending, you cannot do the same with nearly the same level of ease, your second point is plain wrong, a su30sm2 doing the same thing you’re doing will be harder to defend against.

Second, when it comes to faffing about, the Su-30SM2 does not have 360 degree RWR coverage. There are large blindspots above and below the plane due to RWR coverage only being a 30 degree arc. This is not a concern for the Rafal.

This is mostly a sim thing, in arb it doesn’t matter as much if at all (IMO complete non issue), but in sim it’s quite annoying.
Squish is a sim main so i would assume he’s talking about sim here

absolutely understandable then, but the thread is about rb. and in my little experience bvr is more effective in sim too, so then the range advantage on the -1 will be more relevant too

j10c is much worse than rafale was when it was dominant though, my point was never that rafale wasnt dominant, my point was always that it wasnt how insanely op as some people make it seem, i never played it and i never felt like i was utterly powerless against it. however right now? if feel like if you find yourself against a su30sm2 in anything that isnt the rafale or the ef2k aesa youre better off jing out.

This excuse of theirs is heavily exaggerated and for top tier is kinda irrelevant. Queues on just NA (I don’t play other servers) at that BR are super fast.

I can’t comment on other things, I will say some of the US ones are highly under BR’d, but with the 262s I would say do not deserve that list, since even the fastest of them (C-1a) sucks when fighting a super mustang, the 30mm are simply too crap and the plane is an absolute truck.

Don’t make assumptions about what I am saying or try to put words in my mouth.

RWR coverage is also important in Air RB; especially when the spotting system is somewhat gimmicky and when you will have guys shooting from high and low at the same time.

BVR is no more effective in sim than it is in Air RB. Especially now that most people have good radars and know how to notch, multipath, or golden dome enemy missiles.

And BVR is still viable in ARB. I can score 2-3 kills in the first 3 minutes of the match and land in the next minute, rearm, and im back up.
