It could also be the case that they wish to reserve the 9M for future Tomcats. I don’t know what their plans are (F-14D?).

Doesn’t make a difference at that point, because functionally we have an F4 in game, if they chose to downrate the current Rafale only when a newer, equally as capable one is added then that would be disgusting conduct

We’re talking about current Rafale in the game.
I’m of the opinion that the mistakes they made with the early addition of such a late version of the Rafale are more or less irreversible now. The only thing we can hope for is to FINALLY get comparable aircraft a year later.
I mean yeah, they have missed the window to balance it, having a vehicle be so completely dominant (and exclusive to a single nation) for so long has already seen the damage done.
Unfortunately that means further powercreep is due now
Bleak ending is we only get the MiG-35 and JAS-39E in December and jets like the F-15EX or Su-35 are delayed even further for some reason
They need to seriously stop with adding aircraft of comparable performance gradually and just add all of them at once like with the F-15, Su-27 and JAS-39 being added at the same time. We should have at the very least gotten the Su-30SM in the same update as the Rafale and Typhoon.

The people talking about a Rafale with HMD and 8 MICAs would have an issue with its performance being so dominating regardless if its F3R or F4, that’s the point.

So you agree current Rafale never should’ve had HMD or extra MICAs in order to make F4 an actual buff over F3?
The point is that in game F3 gets all the good stuff from F3R and F4 while for some reason being F3.
If they wanted F4, they would have added F4.
They added F3 instead. Therefore it should not have stuff from neither F4 nor F3R/

I think that current Rafale shouldn’t have been added at all, just an early Rafale F2 with PESA and 6 MICAs, and then Rafale F4 added so that there’s proper differences between the two aircraft.

Exactly, if they added F4 rn, there would be no progression over the current Rafale, because functionally it’s just an F4

Agreed, my preferred option would be to see Early (T1/2) Eurofighter and Early Rafale last december, and then the jets we have right now, be added in the following update, with intermediates added through what would’ve been 2025.
Instead we got the insane variants last year, and virtually nothing to close the gap for a whole year

I agree, it was pretty insane for them to add an early Tranche of the Eurofighter then what is arguably the latest version of the Rafale and not even add stuff like the hornets or Su-30 until a few months later. I would have also liked to see at least two versions of the Rafale with one being a lower BR.

I think the ONLY difference between the F3R and F4.1 for in-game purposes is the addition of 1000 kg hammer bombs. So they are indeed functionally the exact same aircraft.
