I don’t play jets, but Squishface uploaded this video that I found kinda amusing and it seems on-topic.
For once, it’s an RB video (with sim controls):

I’d absolutely love the chaos ensuing if Rafale was a RU vehicle.
Imagine the noise
Imagine the polls.
Rafale should be removed or others should be getting equal airframes + missiles.
MICA getting different seeker is a clear example of RU bias.
Each with 2-3k votes as some can’t stand certain nation in this game.
Also, not seeing some “balance is key” posters in Rafale threads speaks volumes.
Then it shouldn’t have 8x MICA or HMD those fame with the F4 upgrade
HMD tested on F.3R - so it’s possible as well as many equipement been added to other aircraft in game (are you complainning about what those other aircrafts got with same reason? never seen any post)
and the dual openned pylon were already wired and software were ready for their use,… it was a simple choice of military not to open them.
And most importantly, for Gaijin this enough, but many still can’t understand it
Everything else at top tier actually use HMD operationally. Though aircraft like the Typhoon still have barely finished HMD that barely works.
So… As it wasn’t operationally used then it could be removed to balance it.
So is the 8+2 or 6+6 weapons fit for the Typhoon. Pilot testimony and docs from the manufacturer prove that
If everything else has restricted loadouts for “balance”, then so should the aircraft that steamrolls every match because they are too lazy to fix any other aircraft or add equalls
That’s a pretty weird qualifier. Gaijin doesn’t simply have standards/qualifications that only applies to top tier vehicles.
We can’t afford 8x£3m missiles on a plane. Get 2 on the same side of the fuselage (for photographs) and live with it.
Fox 3s are just SARHs with an extra radar to lock into you.
Same weaknesses, so I don’t see facing AMRAAM jets as particularly struggling.
@MrKrabsPattys
Rafale is the 6th fastest in acceleration.
Rafale has an AESA radar.
Rafale has good medium range radar weapons.
Rafale can only carry 2 Magic 2s.
Rafale’s the 2nd? best WVR aircraft in the game.
Not factoring in missiles. It outperforms everything else in game with the latest changes. If you include missiles as well… then it leaves everything behind by miles as well, because it has HOBS for both ARH and IR
True. My mistake for not mentioning that. It’s much faster and more nimble than the SU-30SM tho.
Yes, it does.
Short, medium and you could arguably say long range too. They might be a bit deadlier than an AIM-120C-5 at 30-40 km
So? The Magic is better than the AIM-9M either way. You don’t want to take more than 2 Fox 2s in the Fox 3 meta
Yeah. It is. Even if it’s not the first. It has the means to beat everything in WVR
Scorpion is commerical off the shelf option that is basically compatible with a ton of airframes. Technically there are F-5 variants that have been tested with it and are backwards compatible with it.
Rafale is indeed OP
I don’t like seeing the community using vehicle stats to argue about balancing.
Some time ago we were complaining that using vehicle stats was a poor way to balance stuff. And that gaijin uses vehicle statistics to decide on BRs or other balancing measures (like the old repair costs), which usually resulted in minor nations being punished because major nations had many more bad players that brought those stats numbers down.
Now I keep seeing people use the same failed logic when it suits their argument. The rafale is indeed unbalanced, but remember that using those stats is still a stupid way to reach that conclusion.
My biggest question is Can Rafale even perform like in current game irl?
If it realistic i really don’t mind.
Like every planes yes and no, reports are clearly backed by sources but there are part of the flight model that ends up overperforming because of the limitations of gaijin’s engine to model such things and there are as far as i understand also rules applied for every planes equally to make them playable, i think especially about g pull.
It used to be that Thunderskill was the only source for things like win rate and kill to death statistics. It was plagued by small sample sizes that skew towards players that register to track their stats.
Statshark takes a far larger sample size than Thunderskill and also more readily shows month to month changes. The last month sample from Thunderskill for Rafale games was less than 5,000 Air RB Sessions. In the same time period, Statshark tracked over 900,000 sessions for the Rafale.
It is far more reasonable to make arguments based on average statistics when the average is not skewed by sampling errors and cannot be argued to represent small snapshot of the overall picture.
No it cannot.
give me a single plane that handles like in real life
