Rafale's reign in a top-tier RB?

I find it funny how people think that the mica ignores multipath more than other missile when the only reason why it actually hit planes while they multipath is because either it hits you directly from above where if you are not maneuvering properly the missile will physically hit you instead of proxiing you or you get splash damage form the missile hitting the ground which happens more often with missile that have a big warhead like the c5 or the aam4
All fox 3 can ignore multipath just like the mica it really just depends on the position you are firing from
Even on the deck ive seen my missile just hit someone that was multipathing or it happens to me sometimes

I unlocked the rafale a few werks ago and only just unlocked the micas as it bores me…

Playing 13.0 and 13.3 is where the fun is at.
The raf and EF should go play on their own.

By searching the forum for Rafale mald threads I didn’t find much to be honest and that thing is almost a year old at this point. People seemingly gave up really easily and without making much of a fuss.

All do that both the ah64e and z10me should also have blind spots

Grossly off topic but i think they actually do. Someone posted the “Spheres” if im not mistaken and they check out except for the MI28

@Armen_Lozone did and those spheres for the ah64e and z10me were how it should be and not how it is

Go try headons a missile with the ah64e and you will see that the LDIRCM is working

Red is what their coverage should be and blue is their current coverage ingame

Aster 30 in game is literally Aster 15 IRL, it doesn’t even come close to 100km

Why did you remain silent when Soviet and German costal fleets destroyed other costals with impunity, but suddenly, when something similar appeared in France, you started saying that’s was problem?

Ah no, don't answer

Leclerc still remains one of worst MBTs in survivability (not “the worst”), even taking into lack turret basket/internal modules

This mistake has long been acknowledged and will be fixed in next update, besides, there are no decent lineups for it

Oh, and the other French vehicles with stupid turret baskets just don’t count or exist anymore, right? Merkava not having a basket also is just French bias, isn’t it? You forget how the FCS module is added to a bunch of vehicles and literally does nothing aside from reduce damage dealt to them.

And in the game it’s bugged and barely hits Aster 15 range. And did you forget that the SAM system is also in the ITALIAN tree too?

Not special. Germany, Italy and Russia have all had the same.

A confirmed mistake by the developers that literally forgot about the existence of the French Tigre HAC.

Challenger, Ariete, Merkava and Type 10/90 is literally

Probably chines MBT too, but I don’t remember

I know this is an old discussion but I think a blanket change to not allow pilots to lock HMD through their aircraft (below the horizon depending on bank angle) would go a long way for the health of AirRB. Not only is it unrealistic but it kinda just breaks the game with the way Fox-3 missiles work now.

The only planes that would be able to do this in real life (to my knowledge) in the F-35, being able to see directly through the jet.

This is already modeled?

yeah most hmd/hms can’t designate below 20 degrees straight ahead

And they also have similar restrictions off to the side even though it’s lesser restriction which is pretty realistic

Can do it and actually be able to do it I think are 2 different things.

Yes, IRL you wouldnt be able to see the target below and therefore locking onto it with the HMD would be sheer chance, but I dont think that necessarily means you couldn’t.

The issue is the thrid person you have in ARB and would be eliminated if you forced everyone to fly from cockpit like we have in SB. (which does already disable the HMD if you look down into the cockpit)

The issue with the HMD is that the Rafale has both excpeionally good dogfighting performance and the best HOBS missiles. Removing the HMD limits the HOBS performance of the missiles and bring the loadout in-line with nearly everyone else, the only exception is the SU-30SM, which has its own mitigating weaknesses

Yes… in a way which removes the identity of the aircraft in game. Not being able to use HMD at 14.3 means you are restricted to very conservative engagements which is 1. Not what the Rafale is good at and 2. Not competitive

You can to a degree. Maybe some leniency like 5 degrees down for just QoL, but I think staying in the notch while comfortably firing missiles at a target shouldn’t really be a thing. (And if it has to be, you should have to bleed speed constantly maneuvering to do it)

I agree with this. Also, if there were a way for the HMD to show targets through the cockpit, then the ability should stay/be improved.

I cant think of any reason why the HMD’s couldnt, only dont so that they dont get in the way of trying to read instruments.

Like for example, in the Typhoon, I dont see why the IFF DL would stop working just because the target was below the aircraft.

There might even be a setting somewhere to allow the pilot to configure this, but that is just speculation and systems like Striker II are fully compatible with the look-through tech, its just that the Typhoon doesnt have the necessary cameras for it, though both the Striker 1 and Striker II can use existing sensors like PIRATE and the Tpod to provide an overlay for the pilot

If service Rafale’s have no HMD, well then they shouldn’t have one ingame. Would be perfectly to balance these crazy op Micas and the huge loadout count.

That isn’t how the game works for better or worse.

You’d just make the Rafale mediocre as hell and replace it with Eurofighter/SU30.

Sounds good, Rafale is just too opressive. Game is not advanced enough. Others can’t really play air rb with these Rafale’s ruining everyones gaming expierience. Also GRB imho.
