Radio Messages problem. Keys 7 and 8 are broken

Hello!

I have a problem with Radio Messages after the devs updated this area of the game about a year ago. I have been ignoring this issue all this time, but maybe someone knows a solution, because after such a long time it’s unlikely the devs will fix it.

The problem is that when I press T in battles, I see this screen:

Everything from 1 to 6 works fine, but when I press 7, it does absolutely nothing. When I press 8, it says “Thank you!”. So it looks like my keybinds are somehow broken. But I have everything in Controls set to the default, I never changed anything in this area:

Spoiler

Everything was working fine before that faulty update (a long time ago), so I know it’s the update that caused this issue.

I very rarely use radio messages, so it’s not a big deal, but it’s still annoying to see something different on the screen and when you use the specific keys (7 and 8).

This looks like the same problem as this one:

Unfortunately, it was ignored by bug moderators. I play on PC, so it’s clearly not only Xbox problem.

I tried clearing the game cache folder but it didn’t help. I also tried to remove my Saves folder from Documents\My Games\WarThunder, but even with all configuration files recreated with the default settings the issue is still there.

It would be great if someone had an idea how to solve this problem.

Have you checked so that it isn’t a hardware issue? does you keyboard have issues with the number keys outside of the game?

Of course it’s not an issue with my keyboard. Even inside the game I can write 7 and 8 normally in the chat, so the game registers these keys correctly.

Also, if I press for example T 4 8, it says “Repairing”, how it should. So it’s only a problem with these two quick messages T 7 and T 8. Something is clearly not connected properly somewhere.

BTW: It would be “funny” if I had keyboard problems with keys 7 and 8 and didn’t notice them for over a year ;).

I’m just saying, i’ve seen WAY worse things when i worked as a mobile phone repair tech. (I had one guy come in demanding we change his battery because his phone was not charging, the charge port was full of lint… Or the lady that wanted us to tell her her Facebook password because she forgot it and obviously we had access to it)
So it’s always a good idea to ask dumb questions first that might instantly solve the issue (you could for example have been using a numpad in game but use the top row when writing numbers everywhere else and so could have missed it).
