The radar data has not been made public, but it certainly cannot be 140 degrees. Some think tanks speculate that the TR modules of the vertically mounted active phased array radar on the J-16 are approximately 2000 to 2100. However, what is known is that it must have more than the number equipped on the J-10C. According to Pakistani media reports, the radar antenna of the J-10CE fighter has a diameter of 710 millimeters and about 1200 T/R modules (it is known that the J-16 radar diameter is about one meter). If that is still not intuitive, it can be compared to the F-35 radar which is equipped with 1676 T/R modules. Even China’s ALG7A developed by the 14th Research Institute has 150 degrees (but the 7A has three faces, while the J-16 publicly displayed currently does not). This was publicly displayed at an air show back in 2018.

Maybe, but its detection range and scanning range in various modes don’t seem to be correct.
That is because its a KLJ-10A copy and paste renamed, and you cant really report it
Also why the complaining about the J-16´s radar when the J-15T´s radar is prolly newer then this one
Since there are no more scanning angles, it would be better to complete the 140-degree large-area scanning. Using the faster target detection of large-area scanning as a way to balance a large-array AESA is not impossible either.

The J-15T was once tried but had no effect, whereas the 16th fifth batch may have used an updated radar and, by comparison, has stronger high-altitude capabilities and is lighter in weight.
