R77 is worst Fox3 so far

those things are absolutely lethal, love them

i’d take four r27er over eight r77s

r27er’s are chaff resistant
r27er’s can relock after they lost a target
r27er’s can be used to scout what’s around before relocking on a target that you see it has more priority instead of launching any (long range) fox 3 and expecting it to hit (imagine it hits on a ja37di instead of the su33 with eight r27er)
r27er do pull 35g’s and clown SRAAMs in dogfights.

R77s do not track
r77s eat chaff
r77’s are so slow that after they ate chaff their innertial guidance will not fulfill it’s purpose even if you launch them at targets 4km away or less
r77s will blatantly miss head ons
r77s are unable to be used against incoming fox1s
r77s do not pull more than 24g’s despite they should at least pull 35s (even if they’re rated 50gs)
i’ve launched around 200 r77s, and only six of them connected, and only two killed aircraft in a single strike.

You forget that the R77 is the 2nd best WVR missile. It turns brutally hard and is still more than capable at shorter ranges. The range is of course, an issue, however you can bring a single R27ER to rectify this

You are, with one word, stupid.

yea no.
Unless you’re trying to fire them at 50 something KM, theres no way you have that bad of a hit ratio.

Hah my Skyflashes love going for targets I don’t even have locked!
I can’t wait for the “Nerf AIM-7 thread” you’re going to make next

The R77 isn’t the best fox3, but by no means is it anywhere close to as bad as the Derby/R-Darter
Plus, you get up to 8 of them on the Su-27SM, and up to 6 on the MiG-29SMT

you dont play r77s evidently.

in my limited derby experience its about as shity as r77 at range but much worse in wvr

you’re wrong about pretty much everything you say

So? dont use the R-77s then, just take R-27ERs. You arent forced to take R-77s, just run R-27ERs on the Su-27SM.

In my opinion the R77 is better than any amraam variant at relevant ranges (up to 15-20km).

The R77’s high drag and poor range compared to the amraam makes almost no difference when 90% of your kills and engagements will be under 20km, so just because a missile has more range doesn’t mean it’s superior.

what makes the R77 better and more suitable for this type of engagements is it’s maneuverability (something that the aim120 is rather poor at, especially compared to any other fox 3).

they got alot of explosives, doesnt matter if youre multipathing if they come close you are paste, and differently from amraams they actually pull 35gs.

Typical gaijin, the most successful, proven, battle-tested, and widespread ARH missile is among the worst

I agree on r77s being better 15 km amd under. But over that amraam takes the cake. Theyre MUCH better those at those range.

i’ve had them miss targets flying totally straight towards me and well above me, or miss targets going slightly to my front side. The missile is bad, period. It tracks horrendously and because it wobbles so much it tends to lose the target off the radar cone.

The maximum distances at which I launch the r77-1 are 15km (above 10km) 10km (between 10 and 5km of altitude) and below 5km between 5km and sea level.

Hows the R77-1?

The R77s are worse than R-darters.
Dont care what the stats say… the shit iv witnessed the R77 do to miss the target is crazy.

Have you ever used the R-Darter?
The thing feels like an AIM-7E-2
It does whatever the hell it wants
I’d take R77s over Darters any day of the week, as the R77s

  • Pull Harder
  • Have more range
    -Don’t do sparrow like things
-Actually go for the intended target.

Ye, i started with GB. They are OK- never noticed any funky shit.

They dont miss for eg in a head on from 5 km away
Or miss a jet that is no where near notch from 10km away

I’ve had that happen a few times, but realistically no ARH missile should (apart from maybe a pheonix)

Yes, they do, quite often.

Iv got 200 games + at a guess in gripon- never once thought WTF is that missile doing

5 games in, in the su27 was all i needed to see the antics of the r77.

I’ve always found R77s way more consistent and reliable.
Probably because the gripen only has 4 so its a smaller sample size, but the extreme pulls the R77 can make the R-Darter or derby could only dream of making
I have used the israli F-16C and I do run a single derby, just for the extra pull, but thats its only use
Derbys are worse than the R77

Im still spading the su27 so only get 2 r77s… im picking targets like you have to with R-darter (not saying rdart is the best

  • but does the job and seems to pull really well in close range)

But even doing this they miss. Thankfully iv just unlocked the r27s but at this point you night as well be using 13.0 flanker.

Im grinding the su30 ATM- Are the R77-1 better ? If not it really is a stinky nation (not including god tier props lol)

It’s really easy to defeat a missile launched underneath you, any missile can be chaffed when it is bellow you.
