What do you guys think about this? I’d like to know your opinions on this. But isn’t the real R73 only pull 40G? Would that be considered a distortion of facts?
where did you read that ?
Yes, R-73 should be able to pull maximum of 40 G, later improved models like the R-73M should be able to pull harder, however I don’t think that’s a advantage if we consider, even with 40 G of force, in-game the Vympel had tendencies to stall on the air or even miss the target if it hasn’t fallen out of the air in the first place.
I think the version in game currently is actually R-73M as from what I can find the 1st R-73s lacked IRCCM, that was added on the R-73M along with improving it to 50G overload.
Edit: I stand corrected, the base R-73 did have 60G overload
The peak overload can vary quite a bit in different conditions, 40G is just a lower bound.
Whether it actually reaches that 60G in practice is a separate question
Spoiler
Still a wobbly piece of shit nothing changed. The “Best missile” in the game doesn’t have working IRCCM and has broken autopilot.
its 60G not 40

As I said “From what I can find” Is there a reason you felt the need to be an arse rather then just post the extra info?
its okay i just wanted to post a meme.
Fair enough and it dose seem you are correct, the R-73E was the base version of the R-73, not the M if I recall correctly, so the other info I read was likely incorrect.
I do try to find accurate information though, so the implication that I am intentionally, much less proud of, posting inaccurate info dose rub me the wrong way a little.
R-73E is the export version of the R-73
yeah, which means that if the R-73E has the 60G overload than that was achievable with the 1st R-73, not part of the later R-73M upgrade, which is contrary to the sources I found earlier that stated that achieving the 50g overload was part of the M upgrades. But If the E has 60g then clearly what I found was incorrect
