R27et

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with the r27et? My rwr will be screaming at me, so I go into a notch, chaff, you know do all the typical stuff to evade, and then I’m hit by an r27et from 15km away. An IR missile with that much range seems a little busted, as it’s essentially impossible to know that you’re being targeted, especially if there’s also radar missiles being launched at you. This is really frustrating me.

they have a pretty small FOV, however no IRCCM so you should be able to 1 flare them at range, it might also be wise just to pop a few flares in a situation as you described just to be safe. As even if you’re looking around like an owl, you can still be snuck up on due to the spotting mechanic

Both the r27t and et have irccm

Unless you are playing a jet with a very low countermeasure count, its best to periodically flare. The r27et doesn’t have great flare rejection and at distances like that you can easily one or two flare them.

They have the worst gate-width irccm in the game, and have generally bad flare rejection.

ah, what lain said then
i figured it didnt as i’ve never had problems flaring the r27ts im aware about

Whenever i get under attack from russian jet within 10km, i switch CMs to both flares and chaff and just periodically release them. FoV gating is kinda weak at range, i never had poblems with R-27ETs that i knew were coming.

I can only tell you the most correct way to avoid it. First, remove the 110 throttle valve to apply force. Second, it’s best not to face the infrared bullet at a 180-degree Angle at the rear of the tail so that the nose of the machine is as close as possible to the direction of the infrared bullet’s attack. Finally, use the positive G or negative G drum motor to trigger thermal interference

R27et has IRCM but it only really works in rear-aspect from closer than 2.5km.

As long as the missile is not behind you at like 2.5km out, pop flares and turn.

The main gimmick of the missile is that you can throw it out at someone from 8km out and have it hit them without them knowing. Be aware of the jets around you and maybe pop a flare every now and then if you think a russian jet is near you.
