According to the Flight Manual, the R27-ER needs a minimum of 2km to a target the angle of the SU-27 should be 5 degrees or less. Page 171 Section 5.14.1 Part 2 “R-27-ER or R-27-TI missiles blah blah blah should not exceed 5 degrees”

If you have the FM then that’s considered a primary sorted. I highly suggest submitting a bug report to get it fixed, as making a topic on the forums isn’t going to change anything.
