R-77 and R-77-1 variable drag coefficients are needed against the AIM120C-5

I’m oppening this thread to discuss the R-77 and R-77-1 fixed grid fins drag coefficients that make these missiles underperform (or match on paper only against the AIM120A/B in the case of the R-77-1). I wish to see these issues fixed and not have to see the R-27EA being added as it is a missile that never left the mockup stage. The energy difference at launch and sheer drag of the R-77 and R-77-1 will make russian aircrafts underperform even more in BVR (especially the Su-27SM, Su-34 and MiG-29SMT).

please remain on topic and civil

Ok. Seems fair. Unfortunately, gaijin doesn’t give a dam about this or other bug reports for that matter. They can’t balance things out even if they were more or less on the same level irl
It’s always: U.S dominates every metric besides ground or Russia dominates every metric because muh 14 missiles and PESA radar.
I do agree on fixing the R-77s at the cost of all the sukhois losing their dual middle pylon, as those were only used on the Su-35 (afaik). Oh yeah, i forgot about radar. Fixing radars. Every radar. MSA are shit rn and despite every bug report, gaijin doesn’t do anything about them

agree

Whilst yes gaijin ignores well written bugreprts all the time that is not the case for r77 if you browse the bug report site searching r-77 youll see that the evidence is lacking at best.
