How do you position the SM2 before the furball? The typhoon I fly straight up but the MKM is not fast enough.
Eh SM2 got quite a bit more performance to be fair, with the regular SM (basically MKM) I usually go for a longer flank to gain speed, usually at 7000/8000m of alt but below contrail level, then, when I see that I’m not being targeted by the BVR horde that lasts 2 oe 3 minutes, I turn back in and with TWS HDN and start firing at enemies with good aspect at around 25/20km.
Furball really depends on the map, the tinier it is the easier it is to have more enemies crowded on the radar, on bigger maps you really need to adapt to what they are doing, since they could be many km apart from each other.
Yeah I’m doing that too, as long as there isn’t a rafale or typhoon above me flanking as well I think I can catch some guys off guard. I’ve also gotten lucky with mach 1.2 at 15000 Ft straight into the furball. I just need to adapt to the different play style of the flanker after playing the typhoon for months straight.
Yeah, the Typhoon is also a lot more forgiving than a Flanker, you can evade way more easily and be more nonchalant in most situations, but in the Flanker you gotta keep you distance more and manage the lower CM count.

Speaking of, I wonder when they will get around to adding the extra cms or the sm2. Would be a super nice QOL change.
