theyre probably going to get r74m2 as any other r74 is simply not up to par, same for america getting aim9x block 2. and r74m2 will be pretty strong considering imaging seekers arent really modelled ingame.

9x drag reduction is doing pretty well tho? Atleast from ground launched claws, it seems to be doing alright.
Anyone tried it on air platform? I think there was a user mission on the WT Live. 9X before drag reduction literally would fall out of the air if you send it in some crazy HOB shot.
I think i can get someone to do it, the same guy who did the 6 fox3 missiles side by side together whatever that everyone uses as reference.

eh claws does not portray the aim9x well at all. the radar being utter trash means getting any real perfomance out of the datalink is extremely hard, but besides its very easy to dodge it over 7/8km as its not very fast. air launched with a solid datalink connection is likely to result in a world of difference but its still an aim9m in terms of deltav.

I wasnt talking about radar or clutter or whatever. Im just talking about the drag reduction that was given to the 9x over the 9m to help out majorly with range. Ofc on a jet it could help give out some more. Yes its not upto IRIST or asraam level but is it really going to be that bad?
definetly not it has datalink which neither asraam nor iris t have, but at the ranges at which this is effective maws will make dodging it trivials
True. Struggle to find a US jet as well with maws right now except for the raptor… so it maybe the case not to go for IIR meta

I’ve been using the C5 ever since it was added to the typhoon. I unlocked the Su30mkm today and tried the R77 VVD which I assume is a copy paste of the R77-1. A lot of my shots are consistently hitting and actually killing. For some reason it feels easier than the C5 to get kills with. This is my first day with russian missiles and my god it feels like I can trust my missiles more than what Ive been dealing with the past year.

That’s because they pull much more than amraams, and it’s very easy to get killswith them when you got good positioning above the furball.
The R-77’s pull allow them to rain down kind of like MICA’s do, and so they tend to ignore multipath more and feel more consistent.
These past few days I’ve been playing both the AESA Typhoon with Aim-120A/B or C5 and the SM2, same strategy with both aircraft, difference is in the average Typhoon match I get 3 or 4 kills, with the SM2 I get 6 or more. (missile count is also a factor ofc, but the EFT has 8 which is not a low number)
