BR is there for balance…
And artificial nerfs
Because there would be a 10k post thread complaining about russian bias, we get the r77-1 after dealing with r77 forever and burgers immedietely get aim120c a patch later.
this must be a bait
Again russians complains when nato’s getting proper missiles with proper specs
Why do we need to buff r73 now, if aim9x is limited only to SAM?
The whole comparison is irrelevant as of now
Remember we still didn’t get Python-4 because according to Gaijin it will be too op(wonder what they think about P5), meanwhile Russia is the only nation that enjoys TVC IR missiles, even if it’s limited for game balance.
R73 is only useful for for dogfights, its fov gate only becomes unflarable within 2km, and you can still preflare it. You do not want to get into that kind of range when you are easily 3rd partied from 20km away at top tier. These missiles would be OP at like 12.7, not really so much higher up. I’d rather have the 9ms with 3x the effective range at 13.0 and actually have useful irccm that works at all ranges not just in dogfight ranges.
In a 1v1 scenario sure I’d take r73 over 9m every day of the week, but what we have in ARB pretty much always favors range because you are almost never getting a 1v1.
Same goes for Aim-9M and AAM-3, at further distances all Ir missiles can be defeat with proper technique.
People claim R-73 isn’t good enough missile while in reality it excels in both dogfight and long range shots.
I’ve been using this missile ever since it came out and never had any problems unlike some people claimed to be.
The difference is someone just randomly flaring is going to beat an r73 launched from 3-4km away instantly, or shooting a missile or whatever, and 3-4km is about as far as you would ever think of tossing one of these, you have to flare and maneuver to defeat aim 9m, it matters when you are just trying to kill unaware people in fur ball and being able to launch them from much farther away helps in that too.
“Unflarable” ? wtf
It uses fov gating, once it is close enough it wont be able to see flares and the range depends on what aspect its fired at. It’s not at all like the 9m in how it counters flares.
It makes it a much better close range missile but poor at longer ranges.
Yes, but you can always flare missile, now if people don’t know that’s another thing, everything will depend on the other player’s reaction time, and there’s no point in saying that it’s less than 300 metres , because in 90% of cases the missile will pass through the player. and if you don’t know how to flare an r-73, I can show you how easy it is.
aaah, the AIM260, in service next year since how many years already?
If it’s underperforming then it should be buffed to its correct stats, this goes for literally anything missile wise.
The sources say it’s only 40G and +/-12G for target hit, but anyway
It’s between 40-50g
Most sources say this.
R-73M and R-74M are true 50g while the R-74M2 is 60g
Does it matter?
Aim-9X is being added as a SAM. Not from A2A combat.
And there is also a 2 year old bug report that would more than double the lock range of the Aim-9M. Should the R-73s lock range be halved just because the Aim-9M has a nerfed lock range?
most missiles in the game are inaccurate on purpose for balance reasons, if the r73 got buffed for no reason other than irl stats then they would need to buff almost every nato missile in the game.
aim54C aim-9m are underperforming r73 is good way it is right now
