R-73 (40G) vs. AIM-9X (50G) – Where's the 60G fix for R-73?

If it’s underperforming then it should be buffed to its correct stats, this goes for literally anything missile wise.

The sources say it’s only 40G and +/-12G for target hit, but anyway

It’s between 40-50g
Most sources say this.
R-73M and R-74M are true 50g while the R-74M2 is 60g

Does it matter?

Aim-9X is being added as a SAM. Not from A2A combat.

And there is also a 2 year old bug report that would more than double the lock range of the Aim-9M. Should the R-73s lock range be halved just because the Aim-9M has a nerfed lock range?

most missiles in the game are inaccurate on purpose for balance reasons, if the r73 got buffed for no reason other than irl stats then they would need to buff almost every nato missile in the game.

aim54C aim-9m are underperforming r73 is good way it is right now

what sources? this is for R-73E

100000% official and safe . Missile can do 60g but seeker can only see 45 degrees

it’s literally a marketing brochure from a russian aerospace company

Yep

G pull abilities and seeker FOV aren’t linked.

Oh I see that now, then the 40gs must be a balance decision.

??? Ahh ok, good to know, so the missile can only lock up to 45º what do you want 60G for then ? the missile doesn’t target hit at 60G you know ?

No, it’s the missile’s real status

according to what/who?

It doesn’t look like it, so far brochures have said 60gs and some unofficial sources have said 40-50Gs

seeker performance and maximum kinematic performance are two different things, considering the missile has tvc, instant off the rail pull and is linked to an HMD helping with HOBS it isn’t surprising to see such a seeker here. especially considering this is a 1980’s missile

G overload for thrust vectoring missiles does not matter as they will being doing far under the limit on HOB shots.
