I just realised you can now launch the R-27ER in soft lock / TWS track mode, but the missile will guide by IOG instantly and will never link to the radar even if you hard lock the target as soon as you launch it.
Just a weird bug. Avoid launching them without a prior lock or the missile will go to waste.
i heard you can do the same with any SARH missile
i didnt test it myself tho, so take it with a grain of salt
I quick tested in the m2k, f-18a, and the f-15c which has acess to both SARH and ARH, it doesn’t work on those.
But for example, the yak141 and the 13.0 su-27 cannot launch them without lock like I can on the su-27sm and mig-29m.
Probably something related to the aircraft having both SARH and ARH available, but in the case of the F-15C with aim-7m it didn’t work
do you need to do anything special, or is it just going to TWS and launching a SARH?
You just need a TWS soft lock and a R-27ER or 27R to launch. You don’t need any R-77 on your loadout.
I realised I could do that but I was wondering why the missiles kept failing to connect to my target when I hard locked some time after (long range shoots). On the test drive I realised its just a bug and the missile will always go dumb on IOG all the way.
If this feature was implemented, 27ER would be VERY meta and broken at lower BR’s
dosent work for me
so it might be an issue that dosent affect everyone or there might be some other condition
which jet are you using? worked for me on the su27sm and mig-29m

I keep having the bug, I can launch both 27R and ER in TWS (to useless effect)
They messed up a few radars this patch. Stuff like the F-14D’s radar also has very inconsistent switching that can even allow radar missiles to be launched from IRST TRK in some conditions.
Also RAM on the early F-15s has been extra wonky since this patch, although RAM has always been a weird operation mode.
Su-34 also
RAM PD mode is bugged in the last 6 months or so for me
i cant replicate it at all
i also tried the different keybinds you could use to spool up the missile seeker
so i have to ask you to test any premium f-18 with the aim-7p
F-18C premium with AIM-7P doesn’t do it.
I also tested the F-14B and also can’t launch the 7M/F without lock, even with aim-54 on the loadout just in case its related to having ARH avaliable.
Only have this issue on the su-27sm, mig-29m (probably smt and kr too I guess)
so it is only the r-27 and has nothing to do with guidance types ig
still weird that i cant reproduce this issue, especially since i heard someone talk about this exact issue before and said that it also applies to other sarh missiles
that might come from with the issue being user dependent and the scope of it might change depending on who tries
that atleast would explain why 3 different ppl get 3 different results

it is just weird to me that he could replicate it with different missiles as well, while you are only able to do it with the r-27 and well i cant replicate it at all
